Poplar Hill Mansion!!! I'm so glad that I followed my intuition and took a Friday afternoon tour of the Poplar Hill Mansion with Sarah Meyers in Salisbury, Maryland. I have been on numerous historical and museum tours; this is among the best! Sarah 's background as a history scholar combined with her excellent skills in storytelling made this tour very informative and very interesting. Be sure to ask her about her research into the WWII German POW camps located in the Delmarva area.

This is a beautiful old mansion with a very interesting story. Much of the home has been restored to its original condition. The docent was extremely knowledgeable, not just about the home itself, but about the people who lived there, and the history of the city and region. There is no charge for the tour, but donations are welcomed.

I went on a Tour but was really disappointed with the false information that was being given when I asked about the Doctor that owned slaves As it indicates in history he did they acted like they never herd of it and they were surprised to hear it. If you pay close attention once you get in front of the mansion there are no brick buildings or brick houses there is a small apartment complex 4 houses down that is completely brick I am 100% for shore it was used to house slaves and livestock. This is a hypothetical theory of mine but it just disappoints me that you want to take people on a historical Toure but show the polished white side of...

My wife and I went looking for an affordable venue to have our wedding and reception. We looked at multiple places but couldn't justify spending that much money for only a few hours. When we visited with Sarah at Poplar Hill we knew it was the place. The history and the beautiful rooms made for an amazing event and our pictures were phenomenal.
