Review from a 100% Mexican. This place is seriously awesome! I keep making the trek from Tooele just for the sheer greatness it offers. The services are top-notch, and the vibe is so chill and relaxing. It's the kind of place you want to kick back and forget the world for a bit.
One thing that totally sold me is the peaceful atmosphere – no blaring music, no distracting TVs. It's like your own little haven. And can we talk about the prices? Affordable is an understatement. You get quality food without burning a hole in your pocket.
Now, let's get to the nitty-gritty – the food. The fish tacos are my absolute weakness; they're like a flavor explosion in your mouth. And don't even get me started on the smothered Mexi-Fries – they're basically a party in your plate.
But here's the secret sauce – Giovannia our star waitress. This girl is a gem. Always with a friendly smile, and her kindness is unmatched. It's like having a buddy at the restaurant who just happens to bring you amazing food.
Now, if I'm being honest, the food might not be the most mind-blowing Mexican cuisine you've ever had, but it sure hits the spot when you're craving those flavors. And here's the kicker – they're not just about serving good food; they're about giving back to the local community. That's a big deal for us, you know? It's like enjoying a great meal with a side of goodwill. What's not to...

This place is buried in the barrio of Rose Park. Nothing says local like homies all tatted up to their necks and every vehicle in the parking lot sporting the names of unknown Mexican towns scrawled across back windows. Of all the local places to eat, this place sits near the bottom of my list. It's like waiting for the inner city apocalypse.
They shouldn't be calling it "Chubby's" at all. It would be more fitting to call it Skimpies or Skinny's because the portions are pathetically small & child sized. With rice and beans so inexpensive you really have to wonder why you receive about a half of a cup of each sitting beside about what is literally a tablespoon of diced tomatoes. Who ever heard of a 1/2 cup of refried beans at a Mexican restaurant? Where are the chili's or jalapenos or cheese? The guacamole was like green paste out of a 1lb.can.
All of it easily fitted on a child sized plate. Don't let them refill you soda unless you want to pay an extra $2.50.
When the bill arrived they tried to pinch me for five extra dollars because they couldn't add up the cost of three items properly. Will not...
Read moreAwful service, waited 25 minutes for a server to even come to the table or acknowledge that we were there. The food was subpar and the iced tea was literally hose water. Didn't even have a tea taste, it was clear and didn't even resemble tea. Once we finally got the food the server was nowhere to be found. She didn't ask if everything was good, didn't ask if we needed anything, didn't even check for refills. When she finally came back we had been waiting with empty plates for 10+ minutes. We then had to ask for the check it wasn't just given or even asked about.. At the register the hostess took our $20 bills and proceeded to mark them front and back and told us, "you can never be sure," with a very poor attitude and one you could tell she just thought we were untrustworthy people. We will NEVER be back to this establishment. Would never recommend anyone to go here. We are not picky, inpatient people but this experience was absolutely ridiculous. Honestly, it started our day out on such a bad note and what was supposed to be a nice Sunday brunch turned into a nightmare. Wish I could give less...
