When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty. Even so, we waited at the counter 10 minutes before any staff offered to take our order. A lobster roll and an order of sliders. After we chose a table, steady stream of customers came in, about 6 parties in all. We awaited our order, while everyone who ordered AFTER us was served. Everyone on staff walked past our table. After 30 minutes we approached the counter again to ask what the delay was. The counter staff briefly apologized and blamed the kitchen staff. We waited some more. They finally brought our order, most of it, after all the other customers had finished and left. Weād waited 45 minutes. At a counter service restaurant. For sandwiches. My sandwich had clearly been sitting somewhere for several minutesāit had a soggy, glazed-over appearance. My husbandās was clearly freshly made, and It WAS delicious. A manager asked about our food, and when we explained the issues, she apologized then blamed the counter staff and made excuses. Although the one lobster roll was great, the experience was unpleasant and unprofessional. No real effort was made to correct itāshe did offer to make our order again so we could take it home, but we were staying in town overnight. And already tired of waiting! No offer to discount or refund, not even an offer of a drink or dessert. It was terribly awkward. It seems more thorough training for service staff and management would go a long way. Greet your customer promptly, verify orders, check on the folks STILL sitting there without food after youāve served everyone else in the place. Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited for our first time last Thursday for a birthday lunch. Tbh, it seemed they were extremely understaffed and overwhelmed.
We stood in line and then at the register with no assistance for about 20 minutes and ended up entering our order into the POS system ourselves because the staff was so backed up.
It didnāt seem like the restaurant was full, but we might have come after a big rush. We waited for nearly an hour for our food. Some of the ordered and paid for items never even came out. We found out that after we were done eating, they were out of items or just missed them completely. One person in our group never even got the lobster grilled cheese he was waiting for after his first ordered item was cancelled and he asked about it twice. We also didnāt receive our drinks after making requests until we were actually walking out of the door. We received a partial/short credit for items we ordered and didnāt receive, but didnāt want to overwhelm them anymore with correcting the credit.
The girls on the team seemed really dedicated to working hard and trying their best, but again, I think staffing must have been short.
With all of that being said, the food was insanely delicious and the atmosphere is really pleasant. It does seem quite overpriced, but that may be because of the chaotic service experience. Iād love to go back, but am a little nervous that weād run into the...

First, no one greets you.
Two, the cashier today took 5 minutes to ring in 1 dinner special while whiping her runny nose with the back of her hand.
Three, they only sell wine now out of cans. And, only Pinot Noir. Umh, not the best pairing for shellfish.
Here and above are fairly minimal. ---
Four, the Unisex bathroom is utterly disgusting. Urine all over the toilet and floor. It hasn't been cleaned for days.
Five, skipped using the toilet but then obviously needed to wash my hands. No paper towels. Ask the kitchen for paper towels, they cannot find any. These are the food handlers! Gross.
Six, sat outside at yet another filthy area. Could not clean the table as we wanted, no supplies. Food gets delivered and we throw it away. We didn't feel safe consuming it. Plus, the lobster bisque was served cold.
Seven, we walk back through the restaurant to the rear parking lot with zero acknowledgment - again.
And, it was my š birthday (and only 2 other patrons; they were not busy).
If we ever frequent Freshies again, never this location. We usually have Freshies several times a month.
I hope the owner sees this and does something about it. If I were the owner, I'd be furious...
