This place has extremely high fees for parents looking for the sacraments for their kids. My goddaughter had her confirmation mass here, and the fees associated with CCD and the sacraments were off the hook compared to other parishes. Even in comparison to other hispanic parishes in the valley. What shocked me most was after everything was finally said & done-- at the end of mass, the priest made an announcement and shook everyone down for ANOTHER 50 bucks just to get the certificate for confirmation or first communion by telling the kids to ask their parents or godparents for the money for the certificate. Like: Huh?! Isn't that already part of all the fees already paid? I've been a godmother more than a few times at other parishes in 2 different states as well as my own this parish--- and this parish was just something else. It definitely took the cake, and not in a good way. I just hope all that money they receive for each group of first communicants & confirmandi, and for all the baptisms they do throughout the year is used for a ministry that helps their parishioners and the people who live within their parish that have fallen on hard times, because if they do this every year for baptism, first communion, and confirmation-- they definitely have a small start for a...
Read moreThis church started feeling like home once I truly opened up my heart to really serving and trying to listen to God's word. This is pretty much my second home now. I have learned to persevere in my faith and relationship with God once I started giving God the priority in my life. Living retreats and classes, and building a community has helped me see life diffetently, beyond just going to Mass. Fr. Roberto Montoro is an amazing Priest and has amazing people behind him who are dedicated to serving the people of this Parish. No one is perfect but we should all strive to see and love others and be less judgmental, We should ask ourselves what is God asking of me today? Be more patient, show more mercy, forgive again, love with no condition and pray for...
Read moreI wanted to schedule a mass from my deceased grandma for 11/26 so I called more than a week in advance. I was told by a nice gentleman to call after 1 PM. I called the following day in the afternoon and nobody answered. Kept calling for a few days, no answer. I drove there yesterday 11/23 (Thanksgiving Day) and there is a sign at the parish office which says: "We will be out from the 20 to the 27 of November" If you are going to be out: 1) Why you did not take her name when I was able to talk to a live person? 2) Why you do not update your phone recording so people know what to expect when they call your office? Thanks to a friend I was able to get a mass scheduled for her at St. Thomas Church in...
