(I hope I’m spelling this right, as interaction with this employee was great) Zev, a new employee, and the female employee assisting him were extremely helpful and friendly. This was our first time coming to this highly recommended location but customer service from young blonde staff member in the back very rude. As we were unaware of what we wanted and may have taken a little longer than your average customer, it was blatantly obvious that blonde female in the back was annoyed. (Keep in mind we were the only individuals in line to order.) There was no sense of facial expressions as she kept looking at mother with an annoyed expression. As someone who works in customer service and deals with the daily stressors of a high pressure environment, I understand venting and being frustrated, but that should always stay away from the customer. An extremely important aspect of our job is to provide a great quality of service to ensure the return of the customer. Employees expressing their frustration and annoyance in front of guests completely ruin the experience as a new excited customer. Anyone who has worked customer service or experienced horrible customer service knows this—it’s common knowledge.
We apologized profusely for being difficult and thanked the employees helping to take our order but blonde employee in the back was rude. When I commented on her expression, she immediately turned red as if she was busted and denied the expression or annoyance. I understand being upset or feeling frustrated but again that frustration should remain away from the customer. This completely ruined the experience for me. The food was good, drinks were good but interaction with this staff member was...

Atmosphere is great, drinks and food were pretty good. However, the service was pitiful. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 breakfast sandwiches. Got the first drink about 5 mins after ordering. Food came in about 15 minutes. I mentioned to the guy who handed me our food that I was missing a drink. He said “Okay” and went back to making other sandwiches. I went to the counter and asked one of the girls if our second drink was being made. She yelled to all the staff “is anyone making a Drunken Moose?” Everyone looked at her blankly. I give my name and they start going through all the tickets and finally found mine. Then another girl finds the empty cup in front of the espresso machine with the tag on it for my coffee but no coffee made. 8 minutes later, we get our second drink. As we were prepping to leave, the guy making sandwiches says to all the staff while looking frazzled “we need to stop taking orders.” He said this loud enough for the whole coffee shop to hear. The staff did stop taking orders and the line was to the door by the time we walked out.
There were 5 staff members working while we were there. There was only one other couple in line when we got there. This was a Sunday at 0930. The place has potential but the staff could do with some help from a manager,...
Read moreGood coffee, inviting ambiance and great service. Having visited the Stephenville CS multiple times, I was happy to try out the SA location. It is much the same in manner of decor: wood-lined interior with rustic furnishings, abundant lighting and cozy vibe. Broad menu selection, so even a choosy person can find something to suit - speaking from personal experience, as my taste buds are finely-tuned instruments, despite which the long-suffering barista was more than patient.
The only criticism I have is toward the management / ownership regarding the POS equipment. One is required to leave a cash tip as there is not an option for tipping on the software which invariably reduces the income of the baristas. It goes without saying that relatively few people carry cash these days, and I had to fish one of my few bills out to reward the service I received appropriately. As a manager, I know firsthand employee satisfaction is essential to retention and quality performance. Hence, I would recommend making an adjustment to accommodate front line workers.
If you happen to be waited on by the young lady with the eye-catching, handmade jewelry, remind her that her work and workmanship are quality. You might just help bring a new...
