I have been to San Angelo a thousand times each of my adult years(which is a lot) and I can’t understand why I have never tried this place until now. This is very good food. Fresh, hot and fast , I couldn’t believe how authentic it was. The hot sauce had a good “bite to it”, the beans had great flavor and the enchilada sauce was as authentic as it comes. The rice wasn’t my favorite but I didn’t care. I could do without the Guiso Burrito next time. Although the meat was extremely tender, it was very big chunks and over seasoned for my taste. The two fresh homemade tacos made this a perfect lunch. As good as the food was, the service was better. Our waitress was tremendously nice and attentive. She was always “Jonny on the spot” , drinks were never empty and checked on us the entire visits. What a great attitude. I was here for a work lunch break, I can’t wIt to bring the wife here, she will love it.

My wife and I are born and raised in San Angelo, and today was the first time we tried Fuentes. The host was very polite and we had Martha as our server and she was so sweet and friendly. I ordered the carnitas al la mexicana and it was very tender, cooked to order and very delicious w actual flour tortillas and not store bought kind that have that funny smell. My wife had the bacon cheese burger and it was huge but delicious not at all greasy. We ended our meal w the deep friend cheesecake, and it was TOP TIER. Presented very beautifully. We were very tired of same old Tex-Mex restaurants in town but I’m so glad we tried Fuentes. We will definitely come back again and bring our family and definitely will ask for Martha again.

My team and I went to Fuentes Café in San Angelo to celebrate a coworker’s birthday, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The service was excellent from start to finish, and Mr. Fuentes himself even stopped by our table to check on us. When we mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, the staff surprised us with a complimentary dessert and a thoughtful card for our coworker. It was such a kind and unexpected gesture that made the afternoon feel extra special. We left with full hearts (and full stomachs)! Highly recommend Fuentes Café for great food, wonderful service, and an atmosphere that truly makes you feel valued. Thank you, from Tim Smith State Farm.

The wait was really long, but its not their fault, i noticed at least 3 parties of 12 waiting and several parties of 6 or more. They recently reopened so its no surprise that its busy, it was also a friday night. Just know you may be in for a wait. I got sat in a booth with my girlfriend and the booth we sat in seemed rather larger than normal, i had to lean very foward to reach the table and it was just uncomfortable, the booth cushions also seemed to sink to the hard boarding after about 30 min seated. Regardless the food was ok, we started with the cinco nachos and it was simply great and tasted wonderful this includes all the toppings added to it. I later ordered a deluxe mexican plate so i could try a little of everything. The portion size was very odd. There was about 40% of the plate covered in beans which were very over salted, 20% with the chicken enchilada which was awesome that i could substitute instead of the original cheese enchilada but still not very impressive as the inside didnt really have a flavor to it, 10% directly in the middle was the tamale which wasnt very good given the fact it was mixed with all the surroundings and i usually have received my tamales in their casing fresh and steaming and it just wasnt quite so, 15% was the rice that tasted fine but seemed to have absorbed too much water and was kinda mushy but it did taste good although small portioned in comparisonto the beans, 10% was the taco which was overall not impressive and didnt seem much different from something i could make at home except it had less flavor and half the shell was soggy because the plate was overfilled with sauces and juice so i could not eat it like you normally would a taco, and then 5% was the guacamole salad which didnt have guacamole and extreamly small portioned and i just used mixed with the remainder of my soggy taco. Overall the food or what i received was mediocre at best and ok enough that i will definitely return, mostly to try the fajitas which when i saw coming out looked very good and probably what they are best at. Atmosphere was nice and pleasent, there is definitely a lot of potential in the food and i cant wait to return and try...

Before I start I would like to say that the waiter was really good.

When I went to the restaurant they sat myself and the family in a room off to the side where there was nobody there. There were tables available in the main area. I sat there and finally figured out that the only people in the main area where white. Not sure what’s going on there but I could give a really good gues. They started sitting people there only after I asked, what was the reason that I was sat at the timeout area, which I didn’t really get a truthful answer. As for the food it was ok at best. I would not go there unless you like the segregation.

Mr Fuentes, I hope your restaurant has many more years to come. All I’m commenting about is the perception of three people sitting there. As I stated before several people were in the main seating area and we were the only ones seated in the overflow, extra room or whatever it is called. When I asked even the waiter said I’ll ask why. I was told that there is a rotation. Several people in the main seating area and only one family in the empty separate room did not make sense. I sat there and watched more people get seated in the main area after I was already seated. Yes I was given the opportunity to move after I said something about it. Please don’t question my character as you don’t know me. I simply stated what we saw and felt. And as I stated before your waiter was really good and he is the only reason why we just didn’t get up and leave. If you knew that I had such a question while you were there as the owner, you or your manager could have came out and cleared it up but you chose to ignore it. I might not be in that business but I am a customer. Have a great night and I wish you and your restaurant...

Our server was nice, checked on us often, and refilled our drinks promptly. The restaurant is lovely inside with lots of natural light. The salsa and chips were great. That is the extent of the good unfortunately. The queso was bad, it tasted like chicken broth with canned nacho cheese? My boyfriend enjoyed it though. I ordered the shredded chicken quesadilla. I’m not sure if it was canned chicken or rotten or something but it tasted truly awful. I scraped it all off and just ate the tortilla and cheese. Weeks later I still can’t forget that taste. Rice was good but dry. I thought the beans were alright - they definitely taste like canned refried beans. Boyfriend tried one taste and his stomach hurt for hours after. My boyfriend ordered the chicken calavasa, it was good but he thought it was bland. There was almost no seasoning and there seemed to be about 2 whole onions worth on the plate with a little chicken and zucchini on the side. The chicken in this dish was edible, unlike the chicken from the quesadilla. It needed more flavor but was not bad. I would not recommend this restaurant and would...
