Man, I forgot to write a review like 1.5 weeks ago. I believe it's this location and not the one on Knickerbocker road - I travel a lot. Please respond and let me know if I you don't have a Kelly working for you as I want to leave this review where it belongs.
The reason I vote this the BEST SUBWAY in San Angelo, TX is ONLY because of the employee KELLY.
My family loves Subway because of the fresh veg options and bread selection. BUUUT in San Angelo we discovered most Subways.. run out of all of the fixin's (and don't tell you til you're telling them what you want on your sandwich).
So I had a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak. So when my husband said, "let's do Subway for lunch" and pulled into what I can only say is the most unappealing brick 'hole in the wall' Subway restraunt I've ever seen (from Colorado, to Texas, to Michigan and back again) I was just... Put. Off.
We had stopped for Subway two days ago and damn near walked out because they had NOTHING in stock but didn't inform us til it was time to load up on veggies.
Not with Kelly clocked in.
Firstly, not the most impressive outside appearance but trash free.
Secondly, the CLEANEST inside we had seen in San Angelo.
First impression I had when viewing the area behind the counter: Kelly took pride in her place of employment. The food counter was stocked properly and sooooooo clean. Like, so unbelievably clean. Did you have a lunch rush clean? (We went in about 2pmish). Not a single leaf of spinach out of place. And everything was fully stocked.
I saw that and was immediately ready and excited to eat.
But her sandwich making skills...
Spot. Freaking. On.
Literally the best Subway sandwich I've had in like ten years. She made sure the sandwich fixings reached end to end.
She picked off the subpar spinach leafs and put on nice fresh ones, as an example.
Like... How long has it been since I had a Subway sandwich where each bite had meat, cheese, and veg... As opposed to meat and cheese crammed in one corner and vegetables in another.
Every bite was delicious and .. just YES.
Every Subway needs a Kelly.
Thank you, Kelly, and I'm so sorry I didn't leave you the sterling review you deserve sooner. I lost the receipt but I have the customer service paper I picked up off the counter and I'll be letting your employers know what an AMAZING asset you are to their company directly by email.

Please treat Kelly as a valued and important member of your team because work ethic like hers is far and few between. She is absolutely amazing and took my absolutely biased opinion of your location and turned it around as soon as I entered the building.

Read moreI ordered my meal 40 minutes in advance through the app and once i arrived they hadn't even started. Luckily another lady was kind enough to let me skip the line. These employees worked incredibly SLOW. If you're in a rush, go to a different subway or a different "fast food" all together.
