As pure Texans, my wife and I love What-A-Burger. For whatever reason, I feel that service is getting to an all-time low. We ordered online and opted for curbside. The app said that our dinner would be ready by 5:14. Fast forward 30 minutes, and we are still in the parking lot. I decided to go in and ask if they received our order. I could see my name on the screen and it was hi-lited in red. The lady pulls my bags out from a bottom shelf and goes to get fries. She comes back and gives me cups and says, "Go get your drinks." I hate to give a 1 star rating for service, but it is the same going through the drive thru. At least this time, the Dr. Pepper shake was available. The last few times I had gone, something was wrong with the ice cream machine. I was afraid that McDonald's might have taken over!
Here we are on the 4th of July, just having finished our lunch that I had ordered online to be picked up. We show up a few minutes late, and to everyone's surprise, our order isn't ready, or it couldn't be found. Everybody was confused. At one point, a confused looking manager came from out of nowhere and said, "Check the hole." At this point, 4 staff are reaching over each other searching several bags. The only way I can describe the scene is to imagine WWE Gator Wrestling, or professional cat wrangling.
This gave me time to survey the scene, and I tell you, this place is nasty. There is trash over flowing behind the register, and something smeared down the wall. Everyone was in panic mode, and it was 11:20. The lunch rush hadn't started. There was no one in the drive-thru. It was way too chaotic for nothing going on, but I will give you this, the...
Read moreUpdate: 2/10/24. We carefully picked whataburger (since it's so expensive to eat anywhere, we don't go out much. Also nothing sounds good enough to splurge on.)
Oh BUT TONIGHT, at least the employees were not rude. They were busy yet paid enough attention to be efficient.
So we spent $25 for my husband and I to eat fast food. No specials available either.
The fries that came with a $12 meal were a very small sized "medium." This was just a few small pieces of golden brown color petrified fries that look like they were found behind an old cabinet and re-fried. Not just one bad piece. All of them were inedible.
My husbands avocado hamburger was COLD and when it was picked up, the stuff inside slid right out and the toast broke.
Now he's actually having to find something for dinner which is ridiculous,
We deserve our money back- what they served was not acceptable or even edible. Can't believe they served that.
Don't do it! PREVIOUS REVIEW: They were rude to my husband at the drive through! We waited a long time and then they were out of large cups for his drink. You would think they would be nice enough to reply when my husband said thank...
Read moreI placed my order for food at 10:42 and I was left waiting until 11 am. Confused and frustrated, I asked the employees for an update, only to be met with blank stares—they just didn’t know what was going on. Finally, the food arrived, but my hash browns were stone cold. When I politely asked an employee for a fresh batch, she merely took them off the tray without a word or even a hint of an apology and said, “I’ll bring new ones out to you.” It felt like just being dismissed from someone’s space.I asked to speak with the manager on duty, hoping for at least a glimmer of understanding. But instead, he brushed off my concerns, insisting casually that it hadn’t been that long of a wait and that he was overwhelmed with a line in the drive-thru. He coldly commented, “You have your food, and it’s fresh,” as if my disappointment held no worth. It wasn’t even fresh! I was left feeling utterly neglected, my experience with Jarred and employee Erica was a complete lack of customer service...
