Tuesday for us is  Chicken day.   Usually from a  fast food restaurant where it is  baked, deep fried & breaded.  Decided to try something different.  We went to Al Carbon Pollos Asados  on Nacogdoches Rd.  It is  located where the Tip Top, Tommy's,  and another restaurant used to be.  Their Menu is simple.  Their meats are grilled.  Customers order either a whole or half chicken.  If you are not into chicken, fajitas & other items such as short ribs & hamburgers are on the short menu.  We ordered a whole chicken  which included rice, onions, peppers & corn tortillas. .  We added guacamole and beans to our order.   Food was nicely seasoned.  Sauce placed on table was excellent.  Chicken juicey, tender and spiced.   More than ample for the two of us for less than $20 to dine in &  carry out at least another four meals.  Waitress was helpful, efficient,...

Hubbie went on a search for Pollo Asado...the one we usually get was not open on Mother's Day; or was opening later! He went out of his way to make Mama 😊 happy. The Pollo was not flavorful, not sure what was happening but it was HALF-ASSED cooked, BURNT, and or grilled 🤔 RUBBER CHICKEN NASTIEST AF 🤢🤮If we didn't live 30 MINUTES AWAY I would have taken it all back. At least the FAJITA meat was good, HUBBY liked it. But I would not ever eat or go out of my way, plus TOO EXPENSIVE for such a BAD MEAL. The RICE was STILL HARD, GREEN SALSA was WATERY.
