After hearing of the generosity and kindness of Albi's Vite Italian Kitchen during the snowstorm of Feb 2021 (they donated over 300 meals to first responders and front line workers) I told my hubby that this was the place i wanted to celebrate my birthday dinner at.
We loaded up the car and headed over on Feb 21st. First impression, everyone was very friendly and the smell of freshly baked garlic bread was intoxicating! turns out they bake bread every 15 mins to keep it fresh! hubby ordered the Albi's Variety appetizer which included shrimp, calamari, and cheese sticks. that calamari was cooked perfectly and the tempura was light and crispy, paired with the fresh marinara sauce was delicious. the cheese sticks were actually lightly breaded and fried cheese ravioli and those shrimp were huge and delicious!
for the dinner portion our daughter (she's 5) got the kids spaghetti with meatballs (she gobbled her meatballs and had enough spaghetti leftover for lunch the following day), hubby got the sausage arrabata plate (spicy sausage in a tomato/garlic/sherry sauce which was amazing), AND i got the lobster ravioli. y'all. Y'ALL. i blame being preggo but it was so good i audibly "mmm'd" when i was eating. it was like a cream marinara mix sauce (rose colored) and had chunks of lobster and basil and spices. it then had 4 lobster cheese filled ravioli's the size of my palm. let's just say we were part of the "clean plate" club b/c nothing went to waste. did i mention that they kept our fresh garlic bread bowl filled? or that my dish came with a caesar salad? yep yep. and of course, it was my birthday so they were kind and I got a complimentary dessert and choose the strawberry cheesecake. (more mmm's commensed) daughter wanted some so we ordered her a nutella cheesecake slice and shut up it was good. so rich, and smooth. but the real dessert star? the cannoli the hubby ordered. the cream, the mascarpone, the crispy/crunchy shell, the chocolate. CLEAN PLATE CLUB Y'ALL.
we kept gushing to our kind waiter who might have tipped the manager to our table. we were telling him how amazing it tasted, and he took such pride. told us it was his dad cooking in the kitchen, using their Sicilian roots. fresh noodles, Italian imported ingredients. the works. (don't tell hubby, but i went back a week later for their shrimp alfredo lunch special to go. still comes with bread, and salad, and those really big shrimp. it's a lighter alfredo sauce but dang so good.)
this is an amazing gem of a restaurant! family owned, great atmosphere, wonderful staff, and the food is divine. it will be put into our restaurant rotation most assuredly! We'll...
Read moreDecided to try this place since it's fairly new. I don't like alot of Italian restaurants because places like olive garden tend to have pasta that's kind of rubbery or very oily. I found this place and looked up the website. They stated they were authentic Italian food so decided why not..... honestly best choice i could of made. The food was full of flavor, not heavy and great portions. We got appetizers (it was group of us, a total of 8 people). We ordered calamari, mozzarella sticks and bruschetta. With 3 appetizers we could not even finish them in fact we were pretty full by the time we got our meals. I recommend the calamari and mozzarella sticks(called cheese sticks on the menu). The bruschetta was not crunchy and was actually soggy. I feel that crunch and structure is crucial for a great bruschetta so I wouldn't recommend it. Now I will say that is honestly the only complaint I had. The calamari was cooked to perfection and had a nice crunch to them and not chewy at all. Mozzarella sticks were cooked perfect and are very big. Wine is served here and when your unsure of what you want they allow samples which is awesome! The dinner plates were amazing! Chicken parm was perfectly cooked. The chicken is thin but not too thin so it was cooked evenly and the crust was amazing. It wasn't soggy and gave a nice little crunch. The spaghetti itself was non oily like most places and the marinara tasted fresh. Just perfect. Another plate was the shrimp fra Diablo. This dish had it all from the seafood (shrimp and clams) both cooked perfect and the shrimps were the large size. The sauce had so much flavor with an amazing kick. It's not too spicy to take away from the different flavor profiles that it offers. I also took pictures of other friends plates. All were very pleased with them. Overall I highly recommend you try this place. You'll get alot for your money and fresh food. It's a pretty great place. My favorite actual Italian restaurant now.
Went a second time to try other foods to give more opinions about this place. The ceasar salad is good but if you are particular about the amount of dressing on it, I recommend having it on the side. I then got the Albis variety mix as an appetizer. Again great portions and can feed a group of 3-4. It comes with calamari, cheese sticks and fried shrimp. Overall a great mix to try. The shrimps are massive so trying to eat it can be a bit difficult but tasty. See below too the added dishes. I again was very satisfied and even as a leftover heated up...
Read moreMmm mmm I’m so glad we finally tried this place!
I’d seen them for a while, but we hadn’t tried them yet. We weren’t disappointed! First, I really liked the ambience. It felt comfortable inside and I liked the style and decorations of the interior. There was plenty of space on the inside, but it’s arranged in a way that doesn’t feel crowded.
We started with a glass of Merlot House Wine, which was really good, and the calamari. They had a light, crispy texture. Not as heavily breaded as most calamari and very tender. I enjoyed it. The bread was soft and warm and it came with some seasoned oil to dip it in.
I decided to go with the Original spaghetti, which I would rarely do. I’m usually adventurous and like to try new things, but was in a mood for my OG favorite meal, spaghetti with bolognese sauce. The noodles were perfect texture and the sauce was delicious. I pretty much devoured my plate. I forgot what my wife’s plate was called but it had huge shrimp, mussels, and scallops with linguini and some type of white sauce. I’ll be honest, her plate was definitely better. The seafood was so good. The only complaint I’d have is it felt like it was just cooked in sauce. It would be nice to finish some of the seafood under the broiler or on a pan to get some crunch in the outside. It was still bomb though. Our son got spaghetti and meat balls and he went to town, so 4 year old approved lol
We finished with the cannoli. Mixed reception for that. I loved it, but the pastry part around the filling was really hard to break up. It was ok once you got it in your mouth to chew, but it was pretty hard to actually break into pieces to eat. The flavor was on point though and I really enjoyed it. My wife didn’t like it. She was disappointed we didn’t get the carrot cake. So split opinions on that.
BTW I got started on my pasta pre-photo and we had cut up or son’s spaghetti, so they might look a little messy. Sometimes I jump right in 😅
The prices are moderate. A little above average I’d say, but the food is really good. If you follow me, you’ll know that the price itself doesn’t throw me off, as long as the food is worth it.
Overall, I recommend trying them out! We don’t have Italian often, but I’m sure we’ll be back here instead of Olive Garden next time we decide to get pasta again (I don’t say that lightly because I do like Olive Garden and the...
