On my way back home my friends and I wanted to make a stop specifically to try Jollibee. We heard great things about this fried chicken and wanted to validate the hype. Unfortunately there isn't one in Austin so we had to settle for driving to this one on a trip back from vacation.
We got the 6 piece bucket meal that is half spicy and regular. Gravy was included in the meal. We got spaghetti and adobo rice for sides. We also wanted to try the pies. We got one mango and ube.
The hype for the fried chicken is warranted. The spicy was what we preferred and probably would just get that one solely in the future. The skin was crispy and the meat was soft. The seasoning was not overly salty nor bland. Great job, very tasty.
The spaghetti for me was a little bit too sweet. However, my wife really liked it and she said that it would be something that she would get again, good thing we only got the side portion. The adobo rice for me was a great side. Originally when I ate a spoon of it, I thought that it was a little bland and probably needed a little bit more salt. However, I then looked on the tray and I saw that there was some gravy. I immediately thought that perhaps you were supposed to eat this adobo rice with the gravy and sure enough once I mixed it, it tasted perfect together and tasted really good. I'm not sure if this was actually how to eat this, but I would highly recommend giving it a try.
We ate the pies and ube immediately was our favorite. It was not too sweet and had a really good flavor for the filling. The mango one was not bad, but I think it was a little bit too saucy in the filling. The actual pie itself though the crust was very flaky and gave it an interesting texture that I feel is unique.
My friend got the smash burger and the chicken sandwich. He offered for me to take a bite out of each sandwich and they were pretty good as well. He said that the spicy chicken sandwich was his favorite as it had sliced fresh jalapenos in the burger this made it very spicy, tasty and had crunchy texture.
If you're in the area or happen to be around a Jollibee and haven't tried their Fried Chicken, I would definitely...

I ordered through DoorDash and was missing half of my order. We ordered three meals with drinks and three extra rice, but I only received one meal, three rice, and a drink.
To my disappointment, I went to the location to request a refund. I had to explain the situation four times to different staff members. Eventually, the manager approached me while six crew members lingered nearby his ears. He looked over my receipt and promised a refund, along with the items I had originally ordered. He said it would take 10 minutes, but when I checked back after that time, no one had addressed my order or my refund.
Fortunately, a crew member named Xzavier approached me and resolved everything. He de-escalated the situation and took care of both the refund and my order. I have never experienced such chaos, disorganization, dirtiness, and poor customer service from Jollibee's California locations until now here in San Antonio, TX. I don't know who the manager is, but he needs to be replaced or retrained including the crew members.
To the Jollibee owners, I hope you take the time to revisit this location. It's incredibly disappointing. This location needs retraining, cleaning, and must return to the standards of Jollibee. I also suggest promoting Xzavier to a manager position; he knows how to handle and take care of his customers well. Thank you!
To the customers don't order online. The food...
Read moreWe were on San Antonio and decided that despite the number of bad reviews we would try the Jollibee in San Antonio. Sadly, the bad reviews are mostly accurate. While the staff was friendly and the service fast, it does not fully make up for bad food. If you are familiar with Jollibee then you know that they are famous for their chicken (Chickenjoy), their gravy, and their peach mango pie. I am also a fan of their beefsteak meals and their pineapple juice drink. We got all of that today and out if those five items only the Chickenjoy was up to the level we expect from Jollibee. The gravy didn't taste like Jollibee gravey at all. This was the same problem with gravey for the beefsteak meal. It was watery and bland. The peach mango pies we got tasted too much peach or too much mango and not like what we gave come expect at all. As for the pineapple juice drink, it tasted very weak and like there was hardly any juice in it. This is NOT a reflection on the staff who, as I said before, were very friendly and definitely working hard. This is a reflection on the franchise owner and their failure to ensure that not just the Chickenjoy lives up to Jollibee standards. It is very disappointing and it is doubtful that my family and I will patronize this Jollibee until thus...
