Angkor Bistro — Restaurant in San Antonio

We are greatly disappointed in the way Angkor Bistro management handle a 3rd party online order. Angkor failed to fulfill our order by handing the delivery driver a $16.00 meal instead of our $80.00 order. We’ve been loyal customers of Angkor for over 3 years since we moved here and happily even took our friends visiting us from Alaska to dine in there.

A couple days ago my husband’s only birthday meal wish turned out to be a terrible letdown, when we opened up what we expected to be his $80.00 delivered birthday meal & only found a $16.00 dish.

The young lady at Angkor confirmed she’d handed over the wrong order because of a language barrier between her & the delivery driver. I’m confident that though there was a language barrier they could have used confirmation numbers on receipts, instead of handing over the wrong order. I spoke to the Angkor manager by phone who said come on in & pick up your order if you’d like, it’s still here. I explained we have 2 children under 2 & that’s why I’d chosen to do delivery because I didn’t want to have my husband babysit on his bday. It was past the little one’s diner time, they were ready for bed & I didn’t want to pack them up to get the meal. When the manager of Angkor told me I could pickup my order he never mentioned I’d have to pay them in addition for the same meal I’d already paid for online. Upon arriving he then explained to me the refund would go to us at a later time from the 3rd party, but I’d have to pay the restaurant if I wanted the meal. So, sadly I stood in the restaurant, in my lounge wear, holding my 6 month old baby girl in her Jammie’s and almost having my hands on our food that was just sitting out on the counter I chose instead to walk away and took my business next door to Las Palapas who gave us a terrific birthday dinner for my husband.

We are sad to learn this is how Angkor treats their loyal customers and no longer want to give them our business on principle. Some advice to them is if you’re going to use a 3rd party to help have your food delivered, but you hand over the wrong order, then own the mistake. Please, follow the example of the young lady at your counter who owned the fact she’d made a mistake and handed over the wrong order. Just make it right for...

I came here for the first time on a friend’s recommendation, and it was such an awesome 🤩 first time dinner experience 😃!

My friend has been here before and highly recommended it because of the excellent customer service 🌟 and delicious food 🍲😋!

We had the Cambodian combination noodle bowls 🍜 🍤 🥩 🍗 😋, dumplings 🥟, and sticky rice 🍚 with mango dessert 🥭🙂! We also ordered jackfruit boba 🧋, which was unique to me because not all Asian restaurants serve this 😉!

The super friendly owner, Nora, and the waiters and waitresses came out to check on us and make sure we were doing ok 👍! We felt very well take care of 🥰 and highly respected by the grateful 🥹 restaurant staff!

We really ❤️ how this restaurant is very high quality 💫 in their food 🥘 🍲 and customer service 🌟🙂! And also how it creates a very cozy and warm 😌 ambiance for great conversation 💬 with friends and family 🥰!

We didn’t feel packed in like sardines 🐟 like at some Asian restaurants, but were treated very cordially 🙂!

I don’t ever leave ratings, so here goes, from the heart! I wasn’t feeling well and remembered my husband had once brought me home some chicken soup from here. So I thought, that is the only thing that sounds even basically good. I cannot recall all the chicken soup I have had in my life, that’s just it, they were not memorable. We’ve all had it, minuscule pieces of dark mystery chicken pieces with artificially colored broth. OMG!!! This is SO not that…big pieces of tender expertly cooked white chicken breast. The broth was very flavorful and not full of unnecessary spices that muted down any natural flavors. This was simple and even made me feel better! It’s so refreshing to find straightforward really great food. I think it is actually harder to cook like that.
