Shameā¦shameā¦shameš As a paying customer who waited in line for over half an hour in the drive through just to receive a poorly prepared order is shame on you.
I understand the lines were long and managing the line to keep traffic moving is a must, however it should not be at the customers expense.
For what itās worth my daughter loves eating here so after physical therapy she asked if I can get her favorite breakfast tacos ābacon & eggāā¦being that father who canāt say no to his baby daughter I gladly said yes.
She was so excited because to set the record straight Iāve never had a great experience here and she knew I would prefer buying somewhere elseā¦
Before receiving my order I looked into the window that was left open and could see the gentleman who was preparing my foodā¦..without saying anything he caught me staring at him as he was dying in laughter as he hurried up to hand my order to the young lady working drive thru.
Before handing me the bag she looked inside of the back and slowly looked up at me as to say āIām so sooory, but please check your foodā.
After seeing the look in her eyes, once I received my order I moved forward and pulled over while motioning to my daughter to check her orderā¦.. I said baby girly open your tacos and see if your order is correct.
Once she opened oneā¦she said daddy no baconš¤so I immediately said check the others and after checking all I can say was āshameā¦shameā¦shameā. No bacon in none of her tacos.
So furiously I whipped my car around and said letās go back, by this time my baby girl was saying daddy it could have been an honest mistake but I knew better and said I know baby girl you are right even though I new different.
So as I pull up to the intercom I begin telling the person on the other end that my order was wrong however i never said āHOW IT WAS WRONGāā¦. She asked what color car was I was driving.
Two minutes later the gentleman who I witnessed laughing came out from behind the grill to personally give me my correct orderā¦..
Now how did he know? Again all I said was my order was wrong never stating what was wrong and only gave the color of my truck.
Iām sure the young lady at the drive through told him since you purposely duped him on his order you take it out to him and make it correct.
The guy was very apologetic but not once did I ask how he knew what my correct order was or anything. He went as far as to stop traffic and direct others in the line to allow me to exit.
On the way home my daughter said dad you were rightā¦.and I said so were you baby girl it could have been an honest mistakeā¦.. although Iām sure everyone would agree after reading the story and looking at the evidence this was purely intentional to keep traffic moving or he was under...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately I do not know her name. Family and i entered the restaurant last night, Thu 9/5/19 approximately between 8:15 or 8:30pm and once she did that, we departed location to Los Balitos. If you have cameras that get the front entrance and can also view where the kitchen entrance is, it will clearly show what she did and show my kids, wife and i leaving. It was terrible. Just be aware if any other reviews come in with similar behavior, it may be this same girl. Like i said, we have been there several times since you guys opened up and never had any issues. Being in law enforcement and growing up in SA, las palapas has been a favorate of ours but she really ruined it for this location. Thank you
After being here many times, most waitress/staff are friendly and the food has always been ok. However, a few weeks ago family was served by this waitress who forgot everything we would tell her. And i mean everything. She would pass by and it was like she was ignoring us. We had empty drinks and after asking twice for refills, the girl would go near the kitchen entrance not to get our drinks, but just stand there and talk to other staff. We had to ask another server for refills. She forgot salsa, refills, to go boxes, check, etc. At the end, after asking for a box and waiting 10 min, she would still go talk to other staff and made it so obvious she didn't want to serve us. i had enough and had to get up and ask one of the managers for a to go box. I told him how she was and he didn't even care. After all that, i told fam to be nice and after waiting forever for our check, still told her thank you. Definitely did not tip her though. Rolling the dice and hoping we dont get her again, family entered the restaurant a couple of weeks later, same female waitress saw us and was talking to a couple of male workers. They all turned and looked at us. It was so obvious this girl was talking about us as she would look at us while talking to them, then they would all turn looking at us. I have 3 small kids with me, really. My fam of 5 and i had to leave. This girl has mental issues and definitely will not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you want some good Mexican food, then this is definitely NOT the restaurant for you. Consider yourself warned. I don't normally write reviews, but I felt that I owed this one to my fellow San Antonians, so that they can hopefully avoid what my family and I had to go through.
I was originally hankering for some fresh cheese enchiladas. So, I ordered a cheese enchilada plate from this Las Palapas - TPC location. But unfortunately, the people who are cooking the food at this establishment need to take a trip over to the Blanco Cafe or the El Toro Mexican Restaurant in Universal City so that they can hopefully learn what a cheese enchilada is supposed to taste like. They currently don't seem to have a clue.
In fact, there was nothing outstanding about the nearly $38-worth of assorted Mexican take-out food that I bought from this restaurant for lunch this last Saturday (9/21/2024), other than the fact that everything my family and I ordered seemed to be over-salted like crazy--so much so that it didn't sit well with my wife and me (stomach-wise) for several hours after we had both managed to finish off about half of our entire lunch order.
I kid you not. The food that Las Palapas - TPC sold us was so bad that my adult son actually got sick to his stomach and vomited immediately after finishing his potato and egg taco, his country sausage taco, and a sopapilla. For the record, my son didn't add any picante sauce, or pico de gallo to his soft tacos.
Ultimately, my wife and I ended up chucking the rest of our unfinished meals into the trash, rather than take a chance on getting sick again from those super-salty leftovers.
I can't emphasize to you enough that if you're looking for some good Mexican food in the San Antonio area, then you will need to find a different Mexican restaurant to fulfill your cravings. Frankly, judging from our nasty lunch experience, I don't know how this particular Las Palapas - TPC location has remained in business after all...
