If you're visiting Auntie Anne's or Cinnabon for a nostalgic experience, you may want to keep those fond memories intact rather than renewing them.
The pretzels, once thick, soft, and delicious, have changed. The cherished Rico’s cheese sauce, which perfectly complemented the pretzels, is no longer offered. Similarly, the cinnamon rolls, which used to be thick, gooey, and chewy, have seen a decline in quality.
Recently, I purchased four classic pretzels and four classic cinnamon rolls, spending an amount comparable to a family’s meal at Chili's. However, the experience was disappointing. The pretzels were significantly smaller, comparable in size to the frozen Auntie Anne's pretzels available at HEB. Although the taste remained familiar, the texture was not. Instead of being fluffy and thick, these pretzels were hard and thin. The cheese sauce tasted of lower quality, perhaps no longer Rico’s.
The classic cinnamon rolls, while familiar in taste, appeared rushed. They were thin, short, and much smaller than the hearty rolls Cinnabon once offered. The thin layer of frosting barely covered the surface, and the centers were undercooked and dough-like.
Additionally, the food handling at this location raised concerns. While I have seen both brands use gloves in the past, this location did not. The food was handled with utensils, which is acceptable, but none of the staff I observed wore gloves. Moreover, the person preparing the pretzels transported them from the rear of the kitchen to the front window on a rod, without any wrappers, leaving them fully exposed.
These issues detract from the once-enjoyable experience of visiting Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon. It's disappointing to see such beloved treats fall short of their...
Read moreStopped here to buy Challattas and a 4pk cinnamon bun box. The service and the food was terrible! Only thing that was decent were the Challattas. I went through drive thru. I had to wait a while at the intercom and the window even though there was no one ahead of me. I just figured they were short staffed. When I finally got helped the woman handling my order was a mess- rude and distracted. Then once I got my order, I looked in the box and it was sticky and messy on the outside. I looked at the cinnamon buns in the box, and they were disheveled, looking like someone threw them in there and. I returned them using the walk-up window. Originally, I was just going to ask to exchange them for better looking buns by the first woman I talked to but the staff was so rude, I decided on a refund. The woman offered me another box and informed me that they needed to be heated up as an excuse to why the other buns looked like they did - as if heat would help the cinnamon buns I got…and the new box she offered still had the icing and cinnamon stuck to the outside like a 4 year packed it. Then, the manager who issued my refund was also rude, acting as if I wasn’t a paying customer. Where do these people get trained...
Read moreWow, is this place really lacking intelligence, do any adults actually not work here or is that how all the fast food places have succumb to? Tmobile Tuesday free pretzel and I always buy a cheese sauce & get the pretzel for free. Today, the employees could barely contemplate the words that were coming out of my mouth. I understand you have to have one person per coupon, phone? but I never had any issues at the mall or was that because an adult was actually working there? So I had to drive all the way home to pick up my daughter. Ended up getting 3 free pretzels and no sauce cuz they were so anal about it. I would of been fine, 2 pretzels and buy 2 cheese sauces but since I had to drive home, I got 6 phone line anyways(used 3) . So why not make up the gas and get 3 pretzels then no sauce. Technically they said I didn't need to buy anything to get the free pretzel but I thought id be nice. Oh well, sometimes the adults dont know how to be managers and make split second decisions for the customers either. Let's see how long this place actually last with lack of customer...
