I don't understand why this place is ranked so high. Expectations must be terribly low or food quality around the area has to be sub par. I ordered the fajitas trio. The fajitas tasted spoiled, like a fruity flavor (another review mentions their rice tasting like this). Chicken was fine. We had a party of 11. Literally, nobody finished or enjoyed their food. The quesa tacos taste as if they were boiled in water only and nothing else. Not even salt. The consome tastes like boiled tap water. 0 flavor. My party had the menudo, a quesadilla, two parrilladas. The meat was dry and hard as hell. They didn't even bother finishing their food. The alcohol or juice from the bar, I should say, has 0 alcohol content. Waiter said "okay next one you order will have more." I wanted charro beans instead of refried on my plate and the waiter told me he couldn't that I had to pay extra to have them as a side. I agreed. When food came they only gave me the charro beans. I asked the waiter where the refried were he said "you didn't want them" I replied "you're charging me for them so yeah I want them" he's like ok and brought them out. My 7 month old son didn't even like the refried beans. Restroom doesn't have a changing station for babies. Everyone was pissed off at me for recommending this place. No wonder this place was DEAD literally 3 families here at 9pm on a Saturday.

Not bad for a first dinner service. The restaurant wasn't busy but there was a wait for our food. The salsa and chips came out quick along with our drinks. Btw, the salsa is extremely spicy. If you're not big on spice I'd avoid bothering moving past the chips and salsa. We ordered the Birria Ramen and a Mexican Plate to get a variety of food. The Birria Ramen was good but the noodles were a little firm. The consomme was very robust and rich with flavor. Casa Amigos touts itself as having the best birria in town, I can't say that for sure given my limited experience here in SA but today I was impressed. The Mexican Plate was serviceable. My brother felt like the rice and beans were a little dry and the enchiladas a little too bland. He did enjoy the beef taco that came with the meal. Service was adequate, some of the staff was experienced and was training the newer staff as we ate. Atmosphere was good and the location has a drive thru which is a huge plus. Price was average for what we got but I would like more noodles in the ramen and less dry sides. Edit: I have since revisited and was not impressed with the food nor the service, especially when it was on a slow afternoon. The food was bland and the portions were less generous especially at $20 per person.

This is the 3rd time I go there. The place is nice. The waitress are very nice. The food is good but very greasy for me. The service is very good. They have promotions every day. They don’t change any extra fee. They are very nice. The problem is when you go through the drive thru and they change a service fee for nothing. You’re taking everything to go. And even if you pay pr whatever I buy they change a non sense fee. When we went to the restaurant we didn’t have any extra fee. But the 2 times I got from the drive-thru was exactly the same thing. You can go to any other restaurant the same kind and they don’t charge an extra fee. The thing is that you ask the person from the drive thru and they don’t know what that fee is about. I ask them if the fee was because I paid with card or if I pay cash I still have to pay that fee. They just simple doesn’t know. I told to the person on the drive thru that I was not going to pay that fee, I signed the receipt without the fee and they still charge me the fee. I saw it on my bank statement.

Overall it was a sad experience and as much as I'd like to go back, this place seems like a cheap, greedy establishment with nothing but less than average food and attitude at the register. Feel free to read below for the full story.

We had high hopes for this place and were let down. My hubby and I love Mexican food and going to these smaller local joints, especially when we see birria on the menu. When we got there, it was not busy, we weren't greeted and the girls at the register were very catty and not helpful, even after we said it was our first time there. They both spoke in Spanish to my husband (I can understand enough but not speak well) and they did not even try to communicate with me when I didn't respond in Spanish back to them. It didn't bother me much, but my husband took notice. Next issues were dealing with food. My husband asked if they could do a birria quesadilla for me which they did and he got something they recommended. Both items were not very flavorful and my husbands dish was not as they described. He took it to be his misunderstanding but was still disappointed. In addition, all birria items I have EVER ordered at ANY establishment COMES WITH consome and they did not bring it when they brought my food, insisted that it does not come with it and then proceeded to charge me $4 for it which they brought in an 8oz cup (their smallest size? Probably not). [Side note: the girl at the register met me with even more attitude when I paid for it and asked for a togo lid.] It was a rip off for how much we paid and how our meals didn't even come with rice and beans; we had to pay separate for that as well just to get a very small Styrofoam plate of each. It was not worth the money and the service made it worse which is the main reason we aren't very open to going back. We don't have to gamble to find better food and service elsewhere.

Oh and after going, I read the reviews and Mr. Owner, you shouldn't try to guilt local guides for using their platform properly. FIX WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. That's what will give you...

I can't believe all the 5-star reviews. My experience was totally different. I ordered two beef fajita plates. Selected "spicy" when asked. The plates came with rice, beans and something, I guess was supposed to be a salad. How anyone can call this food authentic is beyond me. Nothing on the plate had any flavor, let alone be considered spicy. The fajitas were pieces of fat and gristle stir fried with some onion and bell pepper--that is NOT authentic. The "refired beans" were un-recognizable as beans--something out of a can I suspect. The "Mexican rice" was dry and flavorless. The tortillas were thin, tough and clearly made with too much lard. I'm not sure what we were supposed to do with the little salad. Pico de gallo would have been a better choice--maybe that could have added a little flavor. When I pulled up to the kiosk to order, I asked what came with the plates. After several tries, she asked me to pull up to the window because she couldn't understand me. There was a car ahead of me, already at the window. So, I'm sitting there waiting for them to finish, knowing my order hasn't even been taken yet. After nearly 10 minutes, I pull up to the window, and I told her I was asking what came with the plates. She looked at the menu and said, "that depends on the plate". I gave up and just ordered the two fajita plates. Ten minutes later I was on my way--20 minutes from start to finish. I will not...

I was excited to get barbacoa tacos for my son today. When I saw the taco menu I noticed the prices were $22 & $27 for a pound. I asked the lady what was the difference and told her that I wanted barbacoa. I could tell she was having trouble understanding my question. (I am Hispanic but do not speak Spanish.) She handed off the order to another person and she explained one was lamb/beef & the other was cow head. I ordered the lamb and drove up to give my card. My son then said, "Mom, the cow head is barbacoa. I really wanted that." I knocked on the window and asked if I could change my order and she said, "He's already making it." I explained that when I first drove up I said, "that I wanted barbacoa" but the lady that I was speaking to didn't speak English. She then said rudely to me and my Hispanic son, "Ma'am are you a racist?" I was completely thrown off and responded, "Are you kidding me? I just wanted to change my order because I didn't know the cow head was barbacoa. " She said, "Yes, but you already ordered and it takes like three days to cancel a transaction." She shut the window and brought my bag. I honestly didn't eat it. I was scared to eat it after seeing that the person bagging my food could hear her calling me a racist. I called the manager and he asked if I wanted something different. I explained that this was not okay for her to call me that. He said he would talk to her and thanked me...
