Before writing this review I looked at some of the others already posted, and what a surprise to find how many people mentioned the cold-seeming grumpy woman that seems to run the place. It was like a flashback to my teen years, when one of my first jobs was at an ice cream parlour and I had to deal with a similar person in charge. Brrr. In this case, the woman came out after we were already seated and enjoying our ice cream, but watching (and hearing) her interactions with the one employee on duty somehow managed to bring a chill into the entire room. Again, brrr. Remarkable, and, I suspect, not coincidental.
But putting that aside, the place was sparkling clean and the selection of flavours is probably unrivalled in town. I ended up getting some kind of dark purple stuff called Ube (the counter clerk said something about the Phillipines in its description). It was interesting, as were a number of other flavours on the list, and I'm glad to have tried it. My wife got something like salted caramel with maple, which she liked (but I didn't, since I don't much care for maple).
There's a sign at the entrance specifying credit-card-only. If that's not illegal, it ought to be. Otherwise, yeah, a nice little ice cream parlour.
EDIT: The owner, replying to this review, seems to assume that the content of her interaction with an employee was material to the atmosphere it created. It was not. But thanks, Owner, for demonstrating better than I ever could how that chilled...
Read more"Bee Nice" Cream is ironic ;I did not have a nice time there . The younger woman behind the counter was helpful and friendly. But the older woman there was not nice or helpful. She got angry because we asked for too many samples (6 between shared between 2 of us.) I wouldn't have asked for so many if they were standard flavors. They have a lot of unique flavors though, so I would have no idea what they were without tasting them. The ice cream was really good, but over all I did not enjoy my experience there . The good ice cream was not enough to make up for her rudeness.
Edit: I see how you're trying to make this my fault. However, when we first came in there was no one else there. When another family came in,we stepped to the side to let them order. We were not holding up any line. And as for a limit on samples, I did ask if there was a limit. I was told that there was not. I stand by my review. The ice cream is very good. But the older woman there was rude and not helpful. She has the right to not give more samples. It was the rudeness in the delivery that was...
Read moreAll I have to say is if you are Mexican American do not eat there. They do not make you feel welcomed; they do not acknowledge you until you literally walk up to them. The old white lady that works there has a mad face all night, the young white guy is dumb, young white girl is dumber. Anyway, we ate there and I notice everyone that was not Mexican got greeted and was told good-bye and come back when leaving; even the Philippines and blacks got noticed but then of course they are the minority that needs to be included nowadays. I will never go back again for that I rather go to the fruteria or DQ where I am greeted and appreciated for stopping by. Not this ever again. Oh I did see some cock roaches roaming around and no Bees!! They are not friendly at all. I say only the snobs can relate to this atmosphere; sorry my face is not ugly enough to be in that place. Oh, and they could not add sprinkles to my ice cream; how stupid is that!! Take advice from your shop name and BE NICE TO EVERYONE NOT JUST WHITE PEOPLE AND SNOBS! You made us feel very...
