Upon entering I was told it would be a little while due to tables occupied. I asked how long 10-15 minutes, took less than 10 amazing! Sat down, took a few minutes for him to take my order (guy with the left arm sleeve). Once I ordered my food he seemed short with explaining my options of proteins. I wanted to get duck but he didn't offer it. I asked about heat levels and what they are compared too as in like Jalapeno, Habanero, ect. His response was, "we don't measure that way, it's a moderate heat"(that didn't help... Smh). A spicy soup came out, no water, the main course came out, no water. I watched him go out twice while sitting to refill glasses. My appetizer spring roll came out after my main course and water. No as a minority in the establishment, I felt bc I was in work clothes and not in a certain complexion I was treated differently. Respectfully I asked the server why I was treated differently... His response was, "He was tired and handled 30 guest prior, but the late food wasn't his fault". As a business owner that was the worst explanation because he didn't even apologize for it!
Take aways Service was horrible (unless you look like money) Food quality was lower level (rice was soggy and didn't offer all options for the fried rice) compared to the Thai spot on the other side of 410 less than 5 minutes away (this place was just prettier) https://maps.app.goo.gl/MCzJCMpVWfgNKsfE6 Lack of empathy for under par service justified my thoughts on them treating you how you look If you do decide to go for lunch make sure it's before 130pm otherwise your server maybe tired and food will be delayed I earn 6 figures a year, I don't have to look like it for...
Read moreThis was my second visit to Thai Curry. What a difference the experience was. First time was wonderful. Even posted a review on Yelp and gave them five stars. Second visit was horrible. The food was great, however the service was atrocious. We arrived at 8pm ish which is an hour before closing. We knew exactly what we wanted from the last time we were there so we knew we would be in and out.
The restaurant appeared to be closing so we kind of felt some pressure to get in and out. There were three tables just about to finish their meals and us. Order was taken promptly and food came out shortly after. Not at the same time, just when each item was ready.
Friends soup was gelatinous so she asked for a different soup and got an attitude. Had to ask for water twice and it was finally delivered. New customers walked in about 15 minutes after we did and they were seated promptly. About 15 minutes later, another couple walked in and sat down. They were asked to leave stating that the last seating is at 8:30 PM. We were in shock to see this happen. There is nothing posted stating that the last seating is at 8:30 PM.
By this time, my friend and I just wanted to leave. I have worked in the restaurant business for many years and I know that restaurants want to close their kitchen on time however, denying somebody a meal because they want to start closing the kitchen half an hour before the actual restaurant closes is not a good business practice.
I have met the owners and they are a fabulous family. I would hate to see the restaurant close due to bad service. This needs to be addressed...
Read morePros: None Mids: The Thai fried rice is okay, although I am more used to seeing tomatoes in it than limes (?!?). The Prik Khing was okay, although I have never seen it with green beans. Cons: Egg rolls have meat. Spring rolls are all-vegetable. This isn't an opinion. You can Google it. I ordered egg rolls, expecting meat and vegetables, and got spring rolls. When I turned around, drove back, and asked them if they had given me the wrong thing they said their spring rolls have meat and their egg rolls are all vegetable. Sure, the ingredients are spelled out on the menu, but in a sane world some things are just assumed. And when you spend almost $70 on a simple dinner, you might expect to just be given the egg rolls you asked for, not turned away with an explanation. My wife ordered the vermicelli noodles with lemongrass and chicken and it was a sad pile of overcooked noodles, wilted lettuce, and some weird sauce. That did not make for a happy evening. Oh, and they give you the Thai iced tea pre-mixed. Half the fun of Thai iced tea is stirring it yourself. Not worth the drive and definitely not...
