I came here for a girls night out and ordered the scallops over pasta. There were two tiny scallops on the plate that weren’t even worth mentioning with a spoonful of pasta. Not even enough for a toddler to eat. I immediately asked my server for something else realizing this is not worth paying for and the server gave me a lot of attitude. My food came when everybody was already done eating and she still charged full price in addition to a tip fee for being six or more guests. I spoke with a manager about how I cannot tip a server that did a poor job and left my drink dry all night on top of being rude when I requested a different entree. The manager asked me to try out one more time and provided me with a gift card. Second time around, we were seated without menus and had to go find the server to follow up with us. I ordered the Cacio de Pepe pasta with lamb chops on top. He brought me the lamb chops entrée with a side of vegetables. I told the server that it was the wrong entrée and asked him to bring me the cacio de Pepe noodles on the side. Instead of being humble and bring me the noodles, he tried to charge me a separate entrée and then followed up with arguing with me about why he needs to charge me for two separate plates. The manager met with me. I told her that the server was made aware after I received my plate that it was the wrong entree. The manager asked if I had eaten my whole plate before notifying him to which I replied no. The manager stated I asked for the pasta after receiving the lamb chops and I said yes because that’s what I ordered. the manager asked if I returned the plate I said no because lamp chops is what I asked for over a bed of pasta. The manager was definitely trying to fight her way out of removing the extra entree. She then tried to convince me that my server was a great one. As a fine dining server of several Italian restaurants, I am astounded at the behavior of the staff. They are more worried about being right then they are about a returning customer. I have never stiffed any servers until I tried this place and this is the second time I have not left a tip. It is very difficult for me to justify it but with having the service that they have given, they left me no choice. if you’re going to try and sneak a $30 entrée onto the bill, you will Of course you’re going to get some poor feedback. Also, there is no cheese on the bruschetta which makes the appetizer very bland. (Just tomatoes over soggy bread) the spaghetti meatballs was also very bland . The meatballs had no taste whatsoever. The lamb chops had no taste, just a spicy sauce placed on top to hide what was missing. we will never be coming back and no gift card could bribe me into trying this restaurant a third time. Please do not waste your time on this Italian restaurant. There are plenty more that are far above this one in standards in the San Antonio area. Even Olive Garden sadly which is a corporate chain has better food...
Read moreDid my rehearsal dinner for my wedding there. Talked so much about how great it was and how everything was so wonderful. Had family and friend fly in from California, Oklahoma among other places. It was me and my wife's favorite place in San antonio by far.
So we had a reservation at 6:30 for 40 people. My mother was the point of contact for all of this. We wanted to do à smaller menu to help with speed of service. We were told that they would make and print the menus for us. Once we arrived we were told we had to print and make our own menus. Never had a place tell the guests to print their own menus.
Supposed to have pre-ordered appetizers on the table along with bread to snack on while we looked over the menu. Not only did they not give us bread but the appetizers were not spread out.
For 40 people having 1 server take that table and do all of it was bad planning. Our server tried her hardest but there is only so much a person can do. My guests had to go to the bar and order and when we did order cocktails at the table. Our server was the making drinks for us. They had 1 bartender there but apparently it was too much for them.
Once our server was ready to take our order. She Had to verbally tell us our menu since they did not give us menus. After that it took about 30 minutes before the 1st entree hit the table. It came out 2 entrees at a time. So the time the 1st entree hit the table to the last entree, we timed it and it was 50 minutes and 17 seconds. Which meant most people ate before the last person was served.
Everyone's dishes were ice cold and no one wanted to send it back because it took too long to arrive. They forgot my brother in laws food and I had to remind the server that he wanted to eat.
They ran our of every dessert ordered and they decided to just give us random desserts no one ordered.
So many more problems that day but with all of those issues and stuff, nothing was really comped off the bill, the manager gave a piss poor answer to every issue and just didn't give a crap. She just wanted the money and for us to leave.
Sat down at 630 and left at 1030pm. Me and my wife would go there multiple times a year and every anniversary but no longer. I have never been more embarrassed and pissed off.
If you do not have the capability to take a large parry, just say no, then there would be no hard feelings. But you pissed off my wife, mom, dad and me. If that happened at my restaurant my ass...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in a long time.
We were seated and then completely ignored for about 10 minutes while two other tables—seated after us—were greeted, given bread and oil, and had their drink orders taken promptly. When our server finally showed up, he asked for our drinks and dropped burnt bread on the table with no oil.
The couple seated last had already placed their food order before anyone returned to take ours. Another 10-minute wait before our server came back to take our order. We finally received our appetizer—only then did we get oil for the bread. But the server forgot to put our entrée order in, further delaying the meal.
When the food eventually arrived, it came out at different times, and the \$27 pasta was overpowered by lemon with zero balance—no garlic flavor at all. The Alfredo was passable at best—not memorable in any way.
We asked for a box for the Alfredo twice, and after being ignored again, my wife got up and retrieved one herself. We only took it home in hopes of trying to fix it ourselves as to not waste what we paid good money for. We then had to ask for our check twice as well. In a final attempt to give feedback, we tried to speak with who appeared to be a manager, but she walked off without acknowledging me. One of the other servers (who had a much better attitude than ours) ultimately helped us get the check.
We are known to tip generously—often well above 20%—but this level of blatant disrespect was too much. We left 12% for our server, and 6% for the one who stepped in with a better attitude. Yes, for us, that’s a terrible tip, and it was absolutely earned.
Another reviewer mentioned that if you’re not a regular, you’ll be ignored. That aligns with our experience. But if that’s how you treat new customers, don’t expect them to ever...
