I had noticed this place a long time ago, but one thing stopped me from visiting. They are only open until 3pm, so if you want to try this place, it will have to be a lunch excursion.

I browsed the menu full of birria items, and settled on a birria taco & ramen combo. A tray of salsa, several baggies of chopped onion, cilantro, and sliced limes were brought to my table.
When the food arrived there was one discrepancy, which I didn't ask about, and that was that the photo of my combo showed a cup of consume (the birria juice), but since I had the whole bowl of ramen, I just dipped the tacos there.
I ate about half the ramen, which had a decent amount of meat in it, and then 2 of the tacos. The combo was a ton of food, almost enough for 2 people.. and they provided a to go container for the rest of my ramen.
The ramen filled with meat also was topped with melted white cheese and came out blazing hot. As I mixed in some onion and cilantro the steam poured out from the bowl rising up into the air. I thought to myself, this place would be excellent in the winter.
The tacos were grilled until almost crispy, with a bit of crunch. I wouldn't go as far as to say this was the best birria I've had, but it was pretty darn good. I just wish they were open in the evening.
With so many options on the menu, it would take a dozen trips to try most the menu. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Read moreDisappointed in this establishment and how they handle their mistakes. I would come to Birrieria Jalisco specifically for their queso birrias. After today, I don't think I would come back. This time we ordered a "queso birra pizza" ($30) initially we recognized the amount of cheese it had to compensate for the little meat was in it. After bringing the concern to our server, we felt confident about speaking out hoping for a solution of either remaking the order, or a refund but neither happened. Instead their course of action was to give us more birria however our point was that we did not want to eat it. When we asked for another solution- our server said we could order something else BUT we would still need to pay for not only the Birra Pizza (not refunded although we left it on the table) but also a whole different order of Mini tacos $12. My take as a former server when these sorts of instances happen is to take full responsibility and tailor to a reasonable solution because sometimes it takes a business to lose a little money to make more money. It's very noticeable the kind of business ethics they have.

Read moreFirst off, the cashier is very sweet and nice and helpful with information. Staff hard workers, but I didn't see any waitress make rounds to check if we needed anything (lack of attentiveness). You have to either get up or catch someone's attention. I had the #1, which is a 3 quesadilla birria hard shell taco with small consome and a drink. Also ordered a side chicharrón soft taco. Let me start with size. All the tacos tortillas are bigger than the store bought tortillas. These are homemade, large, thin serving. The soft taco de chicharrón prensado is a bit salty but good flavor, but for the serving size compared to the tortilla, I had to remove some tortilla off. Now the birria tacos....very hard shell not crispy but tough hard shell, very oily that is what turned me off even when adding the trimmings of cilantro, onions and limes, out of 3, I only ate one. The consome also had a very thick layer of oil, and I had to spoon out the oil to get a taste of the broth. Which hands down it was good. The vibe is for someone going through a heartbreak. Go with an open mind, but it...
