Maybe our expectations were too high? We bought a stack of pies in the end. Some were good & some not. Whenever we go to a new place we tell the employee “This is our first time here” usually they are a little nicer & give us a rundown of what they offer. Not this time. The employee seemed to not care. She just said ok & stayed quiet. So we were busy looking around trying to figure out what things were. The sun really comes in & beams down on all the glass making it a little difficult to read some of the signage. I asked a few questions like what was the I-40 & what the prices were. I also asked if they offered other items. We ended up buying a stack of 4 pies to try. After we paid, I saw there were some other items for sale that we would’ve included, but the employee seemed to ring us up so quickly we didn’t get a chance to add them to the order. I was still looking at other pies while she had wrapped up the 4 & said the total. We were the only customers in there so I was surprised by rush to move us along. The ones we bought included Nanny’s pecan which was good, but the I-40 was waaaay too sweet, couldn’t taste anything but sugar. The custard pie was over baked. There’s definitely better ones on the market. Then we had the lemon. 🍋 Nice flavor &...
Read moreCame here initially to try some of their pies before ordering them for Thanksgiving. Walked in and was immediately greeted. She was very friendly and helpful in explaining their current pie flavors and sizes. All the pies are displayed in the case, so it's helpful when deciding on all the options.
They have all flavors in both 9" and 4" pie sizes. The 4" are perfect for tasting a few different flavors. I wanted to try the Peanut Butter Cream Pie, but it was already sold out. I ordered the 4" pies of Nanny Pecan, I-40, and Chocolate Cream. They were nicely packaged up for easy carrying.
The pies tasted amazing. I really enjoyed that they weren't overly sweet, especially the Nanny Pecan and I-40. The crusts were very flaky, creamy fillings, and crispy crunch on top. It was so good, that ordered the 9" Nanny Pecan for Thanksgiving which was everyone's favorite dessert. I'll definitely come back to try more 4" pies to taste more flavors, especially the Peanut...
Read moreMy first time visiting.
There was a good selection of pies and I chose two of my all-time favorites cherry and coconut creme. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helped me pick the pies I was seeking.
The filling was the best part of the cherry pie with just the right crust/filling ratio and was very flavorful. The shortbread crust was not my favorite - I prefer a more traditional crust - but it was tender and nicely complemented the filling.
The coconut creme pie filling was somewhat of a disappointment being too dense/pasty for my liking. However, I did like the nice flakes of the very flavorful coconut.
I'll be back for another taste test of the other delicious-looking pies!
Individual serving pies were $4.50 a piece. I was told a whole pie was $23.00.
Sorry about not having photos...my phone was sitting...
