Celorio — Restaurant in San Antonio

It has been more than 4-5 years since I've been back to Celorio's, and to my expectations I was blown away yet again by the best freaking barbacoa in San Antonio and Corpus Christi combined....! Visiting for Easter weekend, Gloria part owner along with her husband took me and my brother down memory lane during our visit even asking to take our picture .....ever since our father first brought us to pick up our first order back in 1991, we have never waivered in our devotion and loyalty to such mouth watering delicious food from there homemade 🌽 tortillas to chicharrones to barbacoa you will never ever have to add salt and pepper to I promise you ! My daughters started eating there barbacoa ever since they were toddlers and there Grandpa sat them on his lap to eat there first 🌮.... Plan on grabbin some to take back to Corpus to give to my best friend since I don't stop bragging it and to surprise my babies as well....just when you have had the best Celorios takes it to the next level!!!!!!!...

My wife makes tamales and wanted to try this place out for their masa. She made a few tamales and the taste was not very good. They masa tasted too much like lard. You could even see pieces of lard in the masa. It also needed salt and it left a not so good after taste. Definitely do not recommend. I made this review back in December but I realized I spelled something wrong so I edited it. Your masa was made rushed and poorly made. The lard was not mixed in properly. With a poor attitude like that "you can't please everyone " it makes sense now why no effort was made to please one...

Love this place greatest place to get barbacoa fresh corn and flour Tortilla's I've coming here since i was a kid now im a mother and i take my kids every Sunday he before they go to Sunday for the fresh barbacoa and a big red Also the barbaco is very clean very little grease and that's the regular the all meat is perfect Ive lived in Houston and i have never found a place as good as Celorios!
