Chicken Salad Chick — Restaurant in San Antonio

Last Friday night, I decided to try Chicken salad chick that I had heard great things about, specifically regarding its fresh food.  Eager to see for myself, I arrived at around 7:15 pm.The food did not disappoint—everything was fresh. However, not everything was as pleasant as the meal itself. As I waited for my to go order, an unsettling incident unfolded. An older gentleman approached the counter to place his order but couldn’t complete the transaction; he realized he had forgotten his wallet. He told the employee he'll be right back. Instead of offering a sympathetic ear the employee on shift responded with a cold demeanor. Their response was brusque, urging the man to “hurry up”," Because we will be closing in 30 minutes."

I couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable watching this interaction. While I get that employees face pressures during busy hours, a little kindness goes a long way, especially in the hospitality industry.

Despite hearing great things about the lunch crew, my encounter with the evening staff left me in a quandary. The food had been wonderful, but the service from one particular employee tainted my visit.

Now, I find myself on the fence about returning to this location. Perhaps my experience was a mere hiccup in an otherwise great establishment. But when you leave a location feeling uneasy about the treatment of others, it makes you think twice about...

I LOVE chicken salad chick. It is fairly priced, decent portions, and it is delicious. It also makes me feel like a mom in the early 2000’s getting lunch on my corporate lunch break LOL. The only reason why I didn’t put 5 stars is because they do NOT do a good job washing their lettuce. The lettuce in my sandwich had a small flying bug on it. In addition to this, there was dirt on the lettuce that my scoop was on. I ended up not finishing my food after this and left. I’m not one to complain and I didn’t want to wait for it to be remade. Received a coupon in the mail for $10 off $25 and a BOGO of one of the menu items. Got there and they said that they wouldn’t work because their app doesn’t register them as a location? So they didn’t even try to scan and see if their own coupon would work. Really weird business model to send out mail coupons and then not honor the deal even though it’s something on their side that isn’t working. It’s clean inside and the employees were nice at least, but the food was not really great, and definitely not worth the price. Pretty bland, a little stale.
