Fiesta Bakery is within a few minutes drive of one of the UNESCO world heritage San Antonio missions - Mission Conception. Tip: don’t judge the quality of the food inside by the appearance of the bakery on the outside (or inside for that matter). Excellent price-quality ratio and very friendly team working there! We ordered a selection of colorful polvorones (sugar cookies that are crunchy on the outside and softer on the inside), coconut macaroons (rich in flavor, perfectly moist & chewy) apple- and pumpkin-filled empanadas (recommend to eat when slightly warmed), conchas (often the most typical Mexican pastry that is basically a cookie baked on top of a bread roll that are colorful and sweet), cuernos (imagine the shape of a croissant with colorful sugar topping it) and a cream puff covered in powdered sugar. Everything we ordered was delicious! The cream puff and coconut macaroons were eaten upon exiting the bakery mainly so the cream / dairy fillings wouldn’t melt in the San Antonio heat (and because they looked and smelled so good). The cookies lasted a few days in an airtight container and were just a delicious and crunchy as the ones we ate the day we bought them. Whether near the start of your visit to the historic San Antonio missions or near the end, pay Fiesta Bakery a visit.

I have been coming here for over 30 years since my grandparents were alive and I would stay with them during summers. The pan has always been fresh although fail and the ladies who work there over the years have always been kind. Oh and by the way... They DO now accept credit cards with a $5 minimum. And you'll definitely be grabbing more than they worth of sweets because it's worth it. Also the prices are fantastic compared to a lot of the newer artisan "panaderias" popping up everywhere. Here all cookies are around 35 to 50 cents and the most you'll pay for a pan is I think $1.75 with most being around $1. Trust me, it's always been worth it. We thought it was still cash only so we intended to only get a few pieces but when we saw that cards were accepted, it was on!!! So three bags later and if still was only $14!

I know why City Public Service and Bexar County Juvenile Court employees hit this place early in the morning... To Hog Up the Hot Fresh pastries, cookies, tres leches cakes, the Honey buns, twisted pastries doughnuts and the different regular doughnuts, cakes are All Mexican Pastries and then some...carrot cake, chocolate and Mexican cake slices, cream filled puffs.... If you can't find what you want and like... It's because they sold out by 8:00 a.m....open early stay open late... I think 8:30 pm. Fresh Tortillas in a pack, French Bread are always delicious fresh. My dogs love the cookies.... They can smell them a mile away and you just can't hide them. I haven't had a bad pastry from Here ever... The Ladies are always glad to fill your order...
