I'm only giving this place one Star because I can't give it zero or I won't be able to place a comment. I'm surprised that this place is even open, filth is the only word that came to mind when I saw the lay out of this supposed restaurant. Ceiling tiles falling off directly over tables in the main dining room because of moisture. The walls are supposed to be white but it looks more yellow of all the years of not clearing. The carpet has a very distinct odor of age and dirt. Absolutely no love has been given back to this building. If your into movies then I suggest you visit the restroom if you really want to a see a real murder scene... The victim here being cleanliness!!! Please owners do your guests a favor and put some money back into the restaurant so they can feel at least a mediocre level of comfort because at this point it would be considered a five star rating from where the eatery stands. Health department do your job!!! Is it really worth the cost of someone's life for whatever these so called owners are paying you to keep a very heavy lid on top of this. Which brings about the food, bland tasteless and unappealing. I will not even the mention the presentation, I can't because there wasn't any. You can taste the metal from can products they use. The age of the vegetables tastes older than dirt which is funny because they grow in it!! I'm not afraid to say this, when you visit this food cemetery your vising an assembly line of put together product that disguises itself as the lowly representation of supposed American Chinese cuisine. I refuse to call this establishment a restaurant, it would tarnish the good name of bad restaurants across San Antonio. So I will simply compare it to a karate dojo that teaches one single technique and highest level you can reach is white, unlike your walls. That technique being... Wait for it... Fasten your belt! That you charge people for what you call food is the real crime and with that I now know why it so inexpensive. In the immortal words of the great shi-fu "miyagi"."Daniel-San you karate do yes or you karate do no, you karate do think so, squish just like grape." Watch the ORIGINAL karate kid if you don't get that reference, great movie! You Gins...
Read moreI went to this restaurant based on the reviews raving about how they had the best dumplings in San Antonio. They looked beautiful but they were bland and the meat tasted sour and left a sour aftertaste in my mouth. I was feeling fine before I ate them, now not so much. Had to use the restroom as soon as I got home.
The service, overall, was pitiful. The actual server was a nice guy but a little too laid back so he was VERY slow. We didn’t even see him on the floor for the first 15-20 minutes of us being there. The woman who took our drink order was very rude. We were ready to order food when she came to get our drink order but she told us that someone would be by to take our order. Eventually another table that was leaving and trying to help told her we still hadn’t ordered so she came and begrudgingly took our order herself. After each item we ordered she tried to walk away and she took the order without writing it down. (We were 1 of only 3 tables seated in the restaurant at the time.) They had to confirm our order 3 times after that even though we only ordered three dishes. Never an apology. No one picked up our menus until the food started coming out.
String beans were delicious and my son’s sweet and sour chicken was good which is the only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1. Dumplings were bad, my son wouldn’t eat the meat in the middle and he loves dumplings and now I’m wishing I hadn’t eaten it either. Fried rice didn’t look great, I didn’t try it, and the spring roll they called an egg roll was the worst I’ve ever had. Restaurant overall had a funky smell to it. Wish we had just left when we couldn’t get someone to take our order. Save your money and time. Took us an hour and a half to have a simple but disappointing lunch....
Read moreHorrible experience. Very disappointed in so many levels. Went with my parents who are elderly and forget things now. I didn’t understand why we were being ignored and not being asked for our order. After a few request to place our order I saw the older waiter signal the young waiter by wiggling her hand that she was not going to take our order and the third waiter ignoring us too ( only saw a total of three waiters). The young waiter had served the drinks because that seemed to be her task. I kept telling her we were ready to order. Their was No other waiters besides the other two people. I was Discussed on how we were being dismissed. I asked my parents if they had come resent, to figure out why this was happening. My mom made a comment that my dad argued because the young guy was demanding a tip at the register and my dad had no extra money on him. I figured yes they have been here before on there own. They don’t use credit cards only cash. It was so sad to witness the restaurant people ignore us. I figured the restaurant peeps must of remembered my parent and decided to ignore two forgetful elderlies because of not leaving a tip which they didn’t have extra cash or debit card with them. I must of been invisible that day. However, I was paying for them that day because that’s were they told me they wanted to eat and mind you my presence meant nothing. I would of left a tip. Spoiled my experience. FYI, they will demand a tip...
