Too bad the menu here isn't 100% vegan - but all items are vegetarian, and some that are not vegan have vegan options. Interesting to learn that the same company owns both Green Vegetarian Cuisine and Earth Burger. There's a broad selection of menu items, which is good. Too bad breakfast isn't available all day. I would like more healthy menu items, but it is good that there are several healthy choices. The acoustics don't seem great - the room is pretty echoey. But it's not a bad little restaurant. The cauliflower wings (I neglected to take a photo) are excellent, the best I've ever had. Highly recommended - as long as you don't mind eating something deep fried. Not the healthiest choice. The orange tofu was highly disappointing. The tofu, broccoli and slaw were all quite bland and flavorless. I asked for more orange sauce, hoping that would fix it. That didn't add any flavor, but just made it extremely salty. At least it's a halfway healthy choice (although I think the tofu is fried?) - perhaps it would be more enjoyable with getting some other sauce on the side. The hostess cupcake wasn't bad. Not great, but as good as a typical snack cake from a store shelf. Props for making a convincing baked good that's completely vegan. The peanut butter dream cupcake, similarly, wasn't bad. Not amazing, but not bad. I especially liked the filling in the center. The charita bowl's main claim to fame is that the restaurant donates a few cents for charity for each bowl. I wish they took a different approach - like donating a percentage of all profits or prompting for a donation at check out. The charita bowl has a broad spectrum of healthy ingredients, which is great. Unfortunately, it's essentially flavorless and uninteresting. I was morbidly curious about the cauliflower steak. Fortunately, my expectations were low. There is absolutely nothing steak-like about it at all. Let's be real: it's a thick slice of a head of cauliflower, flavored with miso and roasted. It doesn't taste bad, not at all! But it's not a steak. It rightly belongs as a side in a slightly smaller size, or as an appetizer in a larger size, cut into florets. But it makes no sense to make it an entree, especially since the entire dish has no protein. (Side note: the kale salad side is quite good.) On a recommendation from a friend, I tried the kalelupas. Not bad! Having essentially an entire kale salad on each corn tortilla made eating it a messy, complicated affair. The salad tasted good - and sweet. I suspect they put a significant amount of sugar in it, which would make it a less healthy option. But still, not bad, and at least the refried beans add a hint of protein. The masala burger looked interesting, and I was not disappointed. The patty held together firmly. The flavors, the sauces were a bit different than your standard burger - it was definitely sweeter. I'll likely have this one again in the future. I decided to try an unusual item, the "cotton candy cupcake." It turns out this was just cotton candy, or perhaps cotton candy shaped a little like a cupcake - no cupcake is included. It's just your standard cotton candy, meaning just sugar and flavoring. I prefer other kinds of desserts, personally. I tried the weekly special, barbacoa tacos, where the "barbacoa" was made from the stems of a particular kind of mushrooms. Not bad at all! I wouldn't mind a bit more veggies in the taco and maybe some sauce or gucamole though.

Just like their other location in San Antonio, the service and the food are both great – but just a tad on the pricey side. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options are available. Lots of salads, quinoa, and protein options. They also offer a lot of meat substitutes. Their salads and bowls are healthy and taste great, but occasionally I like to cheat and get something with a little more substance. That’s where the “Big Nasty” comes into play. Not as healthy as some of their other options, but quite tasty! The Big Nasty burger is $12.59 but includes your choice of a side ( I chose the steamed broccoli and it was cooked perfectly). I’m usually not a fan of chickpea veggie burgers, but this one really hit the spot, mainly because of the delicious toppings it had. Fresh avocado, grilled mushrooms, FRESH tomatoes (YUM!), romaine lettuce (none of that weak iceberg lettuce here folks), and OMG, the chipotle mayo is the absolute shiznit! By default, it includes melted cheddar cheese, but I chose to hold that on my visit. The bottom line is, this family knows how to run a restaurant (multiple locations and brands, I might add), and you should really give them a try. It’s a great local business to support.

I wrote the first review and was really excited about this place because the food is good. I came in Today after getting dinner last night and really feel deceived. Their are brochures on the counter promoting breakfast so I gave it a try. The flyer said $8.99 and the total came to almost $15. When I asked it was told the flyer was for another location. I understand promoting but to purposely give someone a flyer with a different price for a different location is not good practice, to me. Yes I paid the $14 but I’m sorry deceitful advertisement lost the 5 star rating. Wish you guys well. Soon as I hit the door I knew I was in the right place. Welcomed with a smiling face and seated immediately . The waitress knew the menus and suggested the chicken fried chicken. I chose onion rings as a appetizer but the wings were VERY tempting. The food came out and it was plated with love kudos to the kitchen staff. The food was delicious the kind you say man that’s good k first bite…lol… I could go on and on but they are a must try and you will make them one of your favorites real fast… thanks to my waitress Ariza and the manager Ozzie … the other picture is a Vegan cinnamon roll 😮😊

Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant ASAP! I had the vegan Migas (can be done with eggs or tofu) and it came with potatoes and refried beans. All of it was flavored really well and it came out super fast. It was only $8 friggin bucks and I was full after. The restaurant is clean and it has nice seating indoors and out (tree vines make it beautiful). Service was prompt and friendly. While I did not try the cupcakes I am including photos because they look pretty great too. Edit: tried the "steak fajitas" and was somewhat disappointed. The steak substitute is really good but the plate is a really small portion for $13. Left hungry unfortunately. Most places make fajita dishes worth the price by having a decent portion. They also forgot the guac and took forever to bring it out so I basically ate it plain. Edit: tried the Big Nasty Burger... Not a fan. The Patty is like a dry falafel and it has very little flavor. The "bac'n" was almost non existent. Thankfully they had Sriracha on the table. Go to Arlo's in Austin if you want a chickpea burger that's amazing and actually looks and tastes as advertised.

GERMAN ROACHES. Too bad too since it seemed like a decent vegetarian place. During our meal a roach started crawling up the wall in our booth. I killed it and threw it away and let someone know which kinda led to an awkward interaction with them saying nothing then standing there for a while then saying sorry clearly not knowing what to say or do. Service was okay not great, the guy was nice but I then had to get up to ask for the check after a while and was never checked on after my order was taken. My partner didn't really eat the meal after since they were grossed out (I had already finished mine). I also told the server before check out and he said he'll let the manager know but you never know so I decided to leave a review. I know they don't have to offer a refund but it felt really bad paying for food that was ruined by roaches. At least could have offered to take the meal we didn't eat off. If you don't know anything about these roaches if there is one there is a ton. They infest and the one I saw had looked like it had just laid eggs.(they tend to look crusty and hollow on the bottom).
