Service: 7/10 Cauliflower wings: 9/10 Orange tofu: 3/10 "Hostess" cupcake: 7/10 Peanut butter dream cupcake: 7/10 Cauliflower steak: 6/10 Charita bowl: 5/10 Kale salad side: 10/10 Kalelupas: 7/10 Masala Burger: 9/10 Barbacoa Tacos (temporary menu item): 8/10 Cotton candy (temporary menu item): 5/10 I love restaurants that emphasize an environmentally sustainable, cruelty-free vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. Too bad the menu here isn't 100% vegan - but all items are vegetarian, and some that are not vegan have vegan options. Interesting to learn that the same company owns both Green Vegetarian Cuisine and Earth Burger. There's a broad selection of menu items, which is good. Too bad breakfast isn't available all day. I would like more healthy menu items, but it is good that there are several healthy choices. The acoustics don't seem great - the room is pretty echoey. But it's not a bad little restaurant. The cauliflower wings (I neglected to take a photo) are excellent, the best I've ever had. Highly recommended - as long as you don't mind eating something deep fried. Not the healthiest choice. The orange tofu was highly disappointing. The tofu, broccoli and slaw were all quite bland and flavorless. I asked for more orange sauce, hoping that would fix it. That didn't add any flavor, but just made it extremely salty. At least it's a halfway healthy choice (although I think the tofu is fried?) - perhaps it would be more enjoyable with getting some other sauce on the side. The hostess cupcake wasn't bad. Not great, but as good as a typical snack cake from a store shelf. Props for making a convincing baked good that's completely vegan. The peanut butter dream cupcake, similarly, wasn't bad. Not amazing, but not bad. I especially liked the filling in the center. The charita bowl's main claim to fame is that the restaurant donates a few cents for charity for each bowl. I wish they took a different approach - like donating a percentage of all profits or prompting for a donation at check out. The charita bowl has a broad spectrum of healthy ingredients, which is great. Unfortunately, it's essentially flavorless and uninteresting. I was morbidly curious about the cauliflower steak. Fortunately, my expectations were low. There is absolutely nothing steak-like about it at all. Let's be real: it's a thick slice of a head of cauliflower, flavored with miso and roasted. It doesn't taste bad, not at all! But it's not a steak. It rightly belongs as a side in a slightly smaller size, or as an appetizer in a larger size, cut into florets. But it makes no sense to make it an entree, especially since the entire dish has no protein. (Side note: the kale salad side is quite good.) On a recommendation from a friend, I tried the kalelupas. Not bad! Having essentially an entire kale salad on each corn tortilla made eating it a messy, complicated affair. The salad tasted good - and sweet. I suspect they put a significant amount of sugar in it, which would make it a less healthy option. But still, not bad, and at least the refried beans add a hint of protein. The masala burger looked interesting, and I was not disappointed. The patty held together firmly. The flavors, the sauces were a bit different than your standard burger - it was definitely sweeter. I'll likely have this one again in the future. I decided to try an unusual item, the "cotton candy cupcake." It turns out this was just cotton candy, or perhaps cotton candy shaped a little like a cupcake - no cupcake is included. It's just your standard cotton candy, meaning just sugar and flavoring. I prefer other kinds of desserts, personally. I tried the weekly special, barbacoa tacos, where the "barbacoa" was made from the stems of a particular kind of mushrooms. Not bad at all! I wouldn't mind a bit more veggies in the taco and maybe some sauce or gucamole though.

Just like their other location in San Antonio, the service and the food are both great – but just a tad on the pricey side. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options are available. Lots of salads, quinoa, and protein options. They also offer a lot of meat substitutes. Their salads and bowls are healthy and taste great, but occasionally I like to cheat and get something with a little more substance. That’s where the “Big Nasty” comes into play. Not as healthy as some of their other options, but quite tasty! The Big Nasty burger is $12.59 but includes your choice of a side ( I chose the steamed broccoli and it was cooked perfectly). I’m usually not a fan of chickpea veggie burgers, but this one really hit the spot, mainly because of the delicious toppings it had. Fresh avocado, grilled mushrooms, FRESH tomatoes (YUM!), romaine lettuce (none of that weak iceberg lettuce here folks), and OMG, the chipotle mayo is the absolute shiznit! By default, it includes melted cheddar cheese, but I chose to hold that on my visit. The bottom line is, this family knows how to run a restaurant (multiple locations and brands, I might add), and you should really give them a try. It’s a great local business to support.

Wait staff ignorant about food allergies and what's on their menu--led to illness. Despite my asking specifically for a gf menu (which they don't have one for their Sunday's menu) I made sure waitress knew I was allergic to gluten and dairy. She didn't know at all what on the Sunday menu could be made gf, which surprised me, so manager had to come over to let me know. I then ordered from waitress based on manager's info and specified vegan cheese on my migas and lots of extra vegan cheese. Asked the corn tortillas be extra crispy, too. Very specific. Instead got lots of real cheese and didn't realize it til half way done eating it and after asking the manager if it was real cheese which she confirmed it was. I rarely have real cheese so I'm not used to the taste and had to make sure and ask. Also, apparently when you order crispy migas without the vegetables...they give you plain corn tortillas rolled up in aluminum foil on the side instead of cutting them up and cooking them with the eggs. I mean, seriously???? I basically had scrambled eggs w cheese and paid for cold corn tortillas on the side. Had to take benadryl, lactose pills and IB right then and now an hour later my head predictably aches and my face is still hot. Hoping I don't get the usual migraine from dairy. Great way to start a Sunday. Oh, and waitress ignored us completely from then on: no apology, no trying to make it right, no clearing table, no refilling waters-- she just waited on tables all around and ignored us entirely. We had to get up to ask for all above and even to ask for the check from manager. Before leaving I told manager she's the worst waitress I've ever had (shes got dark brown hair with purple colored ends), is dangerous to customers, and since I used to wait tables in college I know what it takes. The manager apologized and tried to make it right by removing my meal from the order and offering a gf cupcake to go (which is only reason for the high 2 stars rating), but she confirmed the waitress is NOT new. In summary, Sunday menu needs to be updated with gf info and staff needs some serious retraining on what their menu is made up of, what good customer service looks like, and the seriousness of food allergies and sensitivities. Place is dangerous...

Horrible Customer Service!!! Called placed order by phone. Ordered sandwich and cucumber water. Upon arrival the lady at the counter rang up my order. Price was higher then normal before tip but didnt really pay to much attention at the time. The girl was chatting to other associates and not fully attentive. She handed me my box and said have a good day. I asked for a napkin and fork to eat my meal as I had mashed potatoes. Still wasn't fully attentive as I had to ask for the water I ordered as well. At that point she seemed very annoyed as she grabbed a cup filled it with ice and walked over to the water station. As she began to fill it with regular water I mentioned to her that I ordered the cucumber water. She told me it wasn't free. I told her that was new to me but had no issues paying for it. She went back to the register and rang me up for the water. As I was signing the receipt for water I noticed she was filling the same cup that already had regular water in it. I asked if I could get charged half price as I was only receiving half the type of water I paid for. That seemed to only annoy her more. Shocked that something so simple was made a big deal of because she wasn't attentive in the beginning. She was just being rude after as it seemed to annoy her that I kept requesting the simple stuff I ordered. After I got home I noticed I was charged twice for the water. Called back but took a while to answer and was placed on hold forever. Figured it was due to them closing soon.Emailed Green and got no response either. Such a shame! Their food is good and very disappointed their customer service it...
