We have been to this certain location several times but I have to say that this time has been the worst experience we have ever had at an IHOP franchise. On Sunday May 28th at around noon my husband alongside our two sons and mother-in-law had made the decision to eat here. We were first greeted very kindly by a gentleman who was outside he had dreads about shoulder length very friendly. We then walk inside and were seated promptly we were shortly greeted by a waitress I believe she said her name was Catalina. She took our orders at first but then did not take my mother-in-law's. We asked her if she would then take her order so she did. She barely came to our table and the other waiter who had greeted us outside, who was waiting on other tables saw that we had been waiting a long time for our food to come out we waited over an hour for our food to come out! I believe if it wasn't for that gentleman our food would have came out a lot later. Our waitress then forgot to bring out some of our order, so again the other gentleman with the dreads came to our table and asked if we were missing anything and that's when I told him that our waitress had forgotten to bring out two orders of pancakes, she also got some of our order wrong but we didn't complain as it had already taken and hour to receive any of our orders.I really feel like our waitress could have been more attentive I don't think that another waiter who had other tables should have to wait on her tables as well. Then she gave us the check it came out to about $86 she told us that she would handle the payment but she never came back to the table so we left the cash money on the table with the receipt and as we were leaving I could hear a lady screaming in the back in the kitchen yelling very loudly, " Look your tables walking out the one I told you that wouldn't even tip 10%, they're walking out they didn't pay they're walking out the door right now! " My son was actually in the restroom and husband was walking from the restroom to tell my son that we would be in the car. My husband stopped and told our waitress that the payment was on the table as she had stated that she would take care of the payment and never did come back to the table. I'm kind of struck because we did pay and we didn't deserve that type of treatment to act like as if we were walking out on our table and at that why would you automatically judge us about tips? Not to mention that our son was still in the restroom so why would we be walking out on our table? Was very unprofessional to jump to conclusions like that. Whoever the woman in the back was that was yelling made this experience horrible and if she were a customer she wouldn't like the same treatment in return. I will be getting a hold of corporate because whoever that lady was shouldn't have been yelling that, it was very unprofessional nor should she be that close to the door and yelling where customers can hear her or talking about customers like that she should not have a job in customer service if your talking bad about the people who are supporting your business. I do want to mention that the waiter with the dreads was attentive and helpful very friendly and was the only positive thing about that dining experience that day for our family, but it's sad that there are other employees that make the dining experience dreadful especially after paying almost $100...
Read moreAlthough this location has been remodeled, the place is still horrible! We have been to this location several times and each time has been as bad as the prior visit. I thought that because it had been remodeled, I would try it one more time. It was about 10:00pm and there were only 6 tables that had customers, it took over a half hour to get our food. We didn't have any special requests, we ordered straight off the menu. The waitress wouldn't come to our table when we tried to get her attention and another employee turned away when we tried to get her attention too. We called the restaurant phone from our table (I know, sounds silly) to request the server come to our table. She acted like we were bothering her when she came to our table. The food was ehh, I've certainly had better. I ordered the loaded baked potato soup, which was something microwaved from a can. (I seen the server putting it into the microwave as I passed by on my way to the ladies room.) They add fresh cooked bacon pieces and shredded cheese. I made the mistake of mixing all of the bacon in, it was way to greasy, which gave me an upset stomach. There were 7 dirty tables that hadn't been bused the entire time we were there (over an hour) and the employees were huddled around together laughing and having a grand time, all the while, the dirty dishes on the tables just sat there. Now.... The restrooms.... use one somewhere else before you get here, they are dirty and smell horrible. I went in to merely wash my hands and I could barely breath the smell was so horrible and the trash can was overflowing with trash. The men's restroom was the same, says my companion. The manager at this location has no desire to make improvements and even when we have contacted the District Manager, we were told, "I'll speak with th e manager" I know everyone has their own opinion, so you be the judge. This is the experiences each time we've been there. Good luck and God Bless.
PS. There is another location just down the road about 1 mile that has consistently had great food, and excellent service. That location is on SE Military Dr at Brooks City Base, near Home Depot and Target area. Lots of parking too. Check them...
Read moreAtmosphere seemed to be relaxed with an almost empty restaurant. Our waiter unfortunately seemed to take a very long time to tend to us and return requested condiments or beverages, but he was able to stay very courteous and tried to help to the best of his ability. The restaurant manager "Joe" on the other hand lacked the capacity and attitude needed to be in the food industry, much less management. We had an issue with one of our plates being under cooked and the waiter politely said he would fix it. The manager came to our table without telling us who he was and with a very negative attitude said "Now, what's yalls problem with your food?" After finding out he was the manager on duty we explained to him our plate was undercooked. His response is that everybody is entitled to their own opinion and with a very snarky attitude said the cooks are experts and that they don't make mistakes. We were baffled at how he handled such a simple problem only to make it a bigger issue. Mistakes happen in any business, but to ignore them or not own them will wreck any business. Your customer and their wants and needs should always come first. Unfortunately Joe disagreed when we pointed that out to him. The customer is not always right in this managers perspective. Customer service at the management level is highly important in any industry, but to have a manager argue with a customer over a dish is ridiculous. This person has no business in a management position. Moreover, I highly encourage anyone that is thinking of visiting this establishment to reconsider and find...
