This was the worse experience we have had in a very long time. It started with our server being uneducated on the various coupons available on line during certain times and situations. We were able to order but when it was time to pay, the waitress was unable to figure out how to add our 20% coupon. She referred us to the manager... That was a big fiasco due to the attitude and position of the manager. By the time we left we were treated very disrespectfully, we were made fun of, we were called derogatory insults and we were made to feel inferior to someone because she feels that due to her carrying a title of manager, that she can treat and talk to people, (not just because we were customers) but because we were people with dignity for ourselves, that she can treat and talk to us however she likes in front of her staff & other customers. That is wrong on so many levels. Sad and pitiful that she has to use her position to attempt to treat people inferior, which I must say is due to her own lack of dignity and lack of self-awareness. (A person treats people in a negative way in part due to their own insufficient feelings for themselves.) Needless to say we will not ever be going back to that particular restaurant. This lady manager has no respect for the disabled nor customers nor employees. She is a sad example of what not to do when you have a title. *There's a difference and it shows when someone is doing a job to simply pay their bills vs someone doing a service because of how they enjoy providing said service. It shows within your morals, ethics and values.... Providing customer service is a skill and she clearly displayed her...
Read moreMothers Day Curbside WAIT. Online ordering for curbside is always great. BUT arriving and with only two curbsides, which I gladly parked towards storage area and made my call to let them know I arrived, to make my way back towards front. Excited Curbside#2 came available as IHOP employee was handing Curbside #1 food. Then walked back inside, figured she forgot something. Car#1 left. After waiting ten minutes outside, calling seven times, with no one answering, Noticed IHOP employee welcoming outside customers inside. Clearly I am ignored after seeing two other employees step outside and back in. While I continue to call their phoneline. I knew I better walk in, to receive my "Mom's" Mothers Day Breakfast as i promised her, after ordering day before. I walked in Front desk had about 5 customers in line. I walked up informer lady with long ponytails, providing her my name, 9:30 curbside pick up time and that I have been waiting outside, and with NO word of response, she turned handed me my food and looked towards other customers. APPARENTLY SOMEONE NEEDS TO WORK ON HER CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. I had another family member call to hear their side of story. IHOP employee told family member that my food was taken to my car. Family member asked her are you sure. She then changed her story and said No that I had to walk inside because no one was available to take out to me. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT ANSWERING CUSTOMERS CALLS! MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO RETRAIN THEIR EMPLOYEES, or HIRE EMPLOYEES WHO TRULY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS IN ALL AREAS of food handling. I have been to this IHOP before and have never received this type of unresponsive service. That is...
Read moreIHOP is a nice little pancake chain that offers pretty good food with some pretty average service. The atmosphere isn’t all too well, place seems dead every time I go which is during noon or late night.
Food: 8/10 The food is what you’d expect out of a chain restaurant like this, and it’s mostly fresh and ready to eat. The presentation of the food is really great but sometimes you don’t always get the same great taste as the great presentation! Overall very good in this arena
Service: 7.5/10 The service here is pretty average or mediocre, the servers seem to do about what is expected of them, giving refills, taking orders and bringing out food. Still yet to find a server who actually brings a smile to the table though (I do know they probably don’t make very much and work conditions might not be so ideal so I don’t really blame them) Usually you have to either wait or find a server to have you seated on most visits.
Atmosphere: 6/10 Not too much a fan of the atmosphere at most IHOPs, you’d get a better atmospheric experience at a Denny’s in my opinion, and the place usually is dead. Seems little uncomfortably dead if that makes sense. The store itself is relatively clean aside from a few dishes here and there.
Affordability: 6/10 The food is really not worth what it is, I can find better quality at Dennys for a bit less. They may need to work on this
Overall: 7.5/10 This is pretty much what you’d expect from a IHOP restaurant in San Antonio, nothing too special, and nothing...
