I am pregnant and currently dealing with cardiac issues that have worsened when wearing a mask to the point where I have needed treatment for near blackouts in grocery stores and other venues. They are manageable when I have better air flow, and I have been advised as such not to wear one by my care providers because of the risk of passing out and harming my baby or myself. I always order online and comply willingly with waiting in my car. Today I was told not to bother ordering because I wouldn't be served in the future with no mask even though I was waiting in my car and had placed the order online. The employee refused to even verify my offered medical information or understand why I am unable and was rude despite my willingness to wait outside for online ordered drinks. I would invite leadership to review video of the incident if they have cameras in and outside the store, as I tried to explain my concerns from the doorway as well so as not to go in and was flatly ignored. Perhaps this is a training issue to ignore complaints? The employee rudeness event happened outside when they brought the drinks to my car, so that event would need to be reviewed with outside camera. I am currently awaiting the policy for disabled accommodation from Kung Fu Tea corporate. I'm hoping this is just a one location issue, as no other San Antonio business has refused to offer a reasonable accommodation to serve those of us in a vulnerable population in a safe way for everyone. I am just glad my other children were not present to see the way people with medical conditions are badgered.
Update: The owners replied that they are providing training for staff after reviewing video and have an unposted policy for Postmate delivery for anyone who cannot wear a mask. The stores do not currently have signage around this but may in the future? They did refund the cost of my tea. Unfortunately my home is about 15 miles away with a Postmate estimate of an hour and a half delivery, so if hot or fresh tea were needed and you are medically unable to wear a mask, you are out of luck. Basic discrimination with no workaround. I called Tealicious and other vendors which will allow an online order and walk it out to the hood of your car if you are disabled. If tea is in the plans for our family, we will be choosing a more inclusive and...
Read moreI get my boba tea fixing here almost every week. They have THE BEST classic milk tea boba in the city. My husband gets taro slush every time, which is so creamy and comforting. The lychee black tea is also highly recommended his you like something citrusy and refreshing. The slushes are always made with high quality ingredients perfectly blended and never powdery. There are so many cute and trendy drinks to choose from. Their bobas are fresh and perfect 9 out of 10 times. They never messed up my order once after all the times I’ve been there over the years unlike other boba places. They always get the sweetness perfect. The guy who always works there is super nice and kind to my husband whenever he picks up our orders. I’ve been disappointed other boba tea places in San Antonio for making me bad drinks countless of times, but this place has never disappointed me. A little piece...
Read moreBetter than therapy. I practically lived here in 2020. The drinks are addicting and they have great selection. I mean it when I say I have an unhealthy addiction to this place. During lockdown I showed up like 4 times a week. Their drinks gave me the motivation I needed not to drop out of school when I was stuck at home. The employees got to know me way too well. They’ve seen me at my lowest, hair messy and bleach fried, dark circles and insomnia, on the verge of a meltdown in the midst of my crusty pajamas I’d been wearing for days straight at the depth of my depression. They’ve always taken good care of me. I also met my friend there because we both put sticky notes with drawings on their bulletin board. We meet up there whenever we can now. If I’m ever having a mental health crisis I’ve instructed my family to take me there...
