I had high hopes for this place. But yet they fell short on many levels. First of all the food was tasty but I spent $50(+$6 pre tip). the waiting staff soooo dull. I ordered Egusi with assorted meat one orijin w/ a side of jollof for take away. No soap in the bathroom barely any soap in the outer washer area away from the sink. I order assorted meats but I end up with mainly cartilage and tripe no premium meats however I’m used to this problem being Nigerian born in the states (IYKYK). I ask for a drink the lady doesnt offer me a drink suggestion I have no knowledge of the type of beers you actually have so I settle for the first thing I see a half a pint corona I do investigation and notice the orijin below I ask for exchange for the remainder fee she accommodates me. Orijin she does open for me I must open myself common cup to use for my drink “ we don’t have any… wait I see one!” She pass me the only plastic cup from down in the bottom somewhere when there is shelve full of glasses. I didn’t finish the Egusi and I request for take away plate my waiter just drops the plate with the walk away with the impression that I must pack it myself. I wait a little while to see if she would do and she doesn’t. I attempt to pack it myself But the cover doesn’t fit I try to get this young ladies attention but she’s locked in on the customer speaking her native tongue to the point where they have to tell her to finish serving me. She goes to the back and gets the appropriate cover. Food superb, customer service needs work. This is constructive as I’m rooting for you with this one and I want to come back. I had to edit my review the food was damn tasty!

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT ORDER from here. Frankly K don’t understand how this place is still in business. I ordered their designer stew with rice and plantains and meat pie. 1. First even though my order was supposed to come with plantains, when I picked up the order I was informed they are out of plantains with no plan for refund or substitution in the order. 2. The most unfortunate part is the Rice was spoilt. The moment I took it out of the bag it smelt like old rice molted in fridge. Because of how hungry I was I decided to give it a try after microwaving it. Terrible choice because it tasted soft, soggy and most importantly confirmed that it was spoilt. Apart from how sad I was that the food did not meet expectations. It is a food safety issue and puts me at risk of food poisoning. 3. The designer stew was tasteless and way too spicy (coming from a Yoruba Nigerian born and raised). 3. The meat pie also tasted old and flavorless Overall I wasted my money and time at this restaurant and it is sad because they had a lot of potential.

Yum! The egusi was great and the quality in the ingredients was well appreciated. The fried rice was very tasty and I like the variety of the veggies in the rice but the rice was oily. The Jollof rice was okay/good but would have been more to my liking if it was not a little overwhelm by the taste of tomato paste and I would have liked it more if it had at least a hint of smokiness and thymes but of course I don’t know their ingredients or style but can just explain what it taste like or what I would have liked most. Also, I did enjoy the chicken with the rice dishes and it was not hard/dried out like some places. Overall, I would recommend this place at least for take out because we only ordered to go so can’t speak on dining experiences.

Never never never again!

First, this was my first time going there. When I called to place my order, they were out of 2 of the 4 things I ordered. Okay, it happens, so I looked at their website again and chose two other dishes. The lady on the phone tells me it would be 25-30 minutes for my order to be ready. Ok cool, I'm 10 minutes down the road, so I'll head that way and wait. I get there and tell the guy inside I called an order in over the phone. He asks me my name and I tell him. He goes in the back, comes back out and tells me the order is almost ready, it will be a few more minutes. So sit down to catch up on my correspondence.

So time is tick tick ticking and 55 MINUTES LATER the food comes out. As you can imagine, I was not happy. Ok but whatever. We go to the register so I can pay but the total he gave me looked too high. So I got back on the screen to see the itemized screen. 2 dishes both listed on their website was listed on the screen as $25. We have a discussion and he tells me the website is wrong. Well, technically he said, "I don't know why the website says that". I told him, I'm not going to pay $25 per dish when your website said it costs 18. He says the cost is $25. I counter with, then your website should display that.

So I'm tired of juggling each other's marbles at this point and tell him, either he gives me the order based off the website or I'm walking out. He looks at me........... I look at him........ He looks at me. I said, are you going to give me the food based off of this price holds up my phone? He says no. I turn around and walk out.

If it was a dollar or two price difference, I probably would have let it go but a $7 increase on an $18 dish per order is absolutely unacceptable. Even more so they didn't give it to me based off of their website! I'm not walking in there demanding free anything, but simply want to pay what I was expecting to pay.

So no, I'll never go back there and shady business practices such as these coupled with the, I can feel my facial hair growing long wait, I suggest you don't go...

Military members and their families should avoid this place like a plague. Go to Trices and other places but avoid this restaurant.

The customer service was very poor. The agonyin was burnt, like tar (totally inedible).

The Efo riro was ok.

They replaced the burnt meal, but they had a poor attitude.

Update: Thank you for proving that you are rude and you have poor customer service with your response @ Lagos Buka.

I mentioned that you replaced the burnt meal in the original post.

I got the poundo and Efo riro (as replacement )because that was the only food I could trust your restaurant to make decently.

I came with 2 friends who had previously bought rice from you and they both lamented on how your jollof rice was always burnt( that was why I didn’t take rice as replacement). Infact, they mentioned that they only buy food from you because your shop was the closest to our location.

You also mentioned that you had no agonyin today. You did not offer me a refund The options for replacement were limited because of the above reasons.

I picked the option that was fairly decent - Efo riro. I would have paid the difference if you asked for it.

Go through your reviews and see how many people are saying your service is horrendous.

Again, thank you for showing the world your very poor and rude customer service.

Update 2: Some of my colleagues wanted to eat so I followed them ( I didn’t tell them what happened).

They brought my food and I started to eat before they realized it was me. The lady at the reception said the owner of this place said they could not serve me because of my previous review. I stopped eating the food immediately.

This restaurant is a horrible place and they have such terrible...
