My husband liked his plate (huevos rancheros) and a potato/egg/chz taco. I ordered the small oatmeal. On the menu it's priced at $3.99, but we were CHARGED $4.36. I didn't realize the discrepancy until after we paid because we didn't receive a bill/ticket for our meal, we just had to go to the front to pay. I wasn't expecting a fine dining experience, obviously. However, price difference/increases?! No! That is an issue I'll speak on. Especially for -not so great- instant oatmeal and one piece of thinly sliced burnt toast. 😕 This is also one of those restaurants that charges a ridiculous "fee" for to go containers. My husband ordered a sweet tea in a "to go" cup, and we were upcharged $0.36. I didn't finish my oatmeal, so I asked for a to-go container and they charged us ANOTHER $0.36 for a small styrofoam cup/lid. Our server only came by twice on her own accord. Once to take our order (someone else took our drink order). The second to drop off our food. She never came back to check on us. We had to flag her down (took some arm waving and head leaning) to get that $0.36 to-go cup! The hours, per Google, advise they open at 9:30 a.m., but the hours listed on the door say they open at 6:00 a.m. 🤔 Probably would be in your best interest to call and...
Read moreThis Mexican restaurant looks small from the outside but is surprisingly roomy inside! It's worth hunting it down for some great Mexican meals at really affordable prices.
Our first experience was in the drive through a few weeks back when we ordered carne guisada burritos. At just $5 each, these were huge! We definitely got a great value, and the food was flavorful without too much grease.
We decided to try their indoor dining this time and were not disappointed! Service is friendly and super fast, even during the busy lunch rush. Our meals were brought out quickly and very freshly made on hot plates. The Enchiladas Verde plate was stuffed with tender, juicy pulled chicken. The Verde sauce was just the right blend of mild and tangy. Their rice is fully cooked and soft. While their refried beans are really flavorful, my only complaint is that they seem a little watery.
Overall, we enjoyed what seemed like a home cooked meal for a super price. We left full and satisfied, ready to take on the...
Read moreFirst of all, the restaurant was very clean & brightly lit. Next the staff was very friendly toward all & gave me excellent service. I ordered the huevos rancheros plate that came with a side of barbacoa: it was delicious! The eggs were cooked to my liking (over-easy) & I rec'd extra salsa on them, as I had requested. The salsa ranchera served over the eggs actually had a nice slight kick to it (not all of them do) that I really liked. The potatoes were nice & soft on the inside & the barbacoa had a good flavor. The clencher for me was that I did NOT have to season anything (& most of the time one has to at least add salt to somehing, especially the barbacoa!)! They also serve home-made flour tortillas. I also tried their "cafe de olla": it's coffee made in a saucepan with added cinnamon & piloncillo (which sweetens it) -- it was great, didn't even have to add cream to it (& I'm not a black coffee drinker!). Gabby was an excellent server & I will...
