My recent visit to Las Palapas left much to be desired, primarily due to the lackluster service experienced on the patio. Despite the promising ambiance and tasty food, the overall experience was marred by multiple instances of neglectful service.
Upon being seated on the patio, My toddler and I eagerly awaited our meals. However, upon their arrival, I realized I had not been provided with proper silverware, no knife to cut his food up. Despite notifying our waitress immediately, we were left waiting for an unreasonably long time. Frustrated by the delay, I had to take matters into my own hands. I had to pack my toddler out of the high chair to go venture inside to request utensils from the staff. After returning to the table, the once calm toddler was not wanting to get back into the high chair. That I shouldn't have had to take him out of. Making the meal less enjoyable.
The disappointing service continued as we finished our meal. Despite patiently ready to settle the bill, I found myself waiting for over 20 minutes without any sign of our check. Meanwhile dealing with an impatient 18 month old.. Eventually, I decided to take matters into my own hands once again and approached the cashier inside. It was disheartening to see that our absence had gone unnoticed, and we had to inform them that we had been waiting outside for our check.
The most disappointing aspect of my experience was the response from the manager. Upon being informed of the situation, they brushed off our concerns with a dismissive attitude, instructing the cashier to simply "ring em up" as if our inconvenience was inconsequential. This lack of acknowledgment and accountability only served to exacerbate my frustration.
In conclusion, this visit to Las Palapas was the worst I have experienced. The combination of neglectful service, long wait times, and a dismissive attitude from management left a sour taste in my mouth. It is evident that there is a dire need for improvement in both staff training and customer care at this location. As a longtime patron of Las Palapas, I sincerely hope that steps will be taken to address these issues and restore the quality of service that patrons expect...
Read moreWell i have 2 say it was my 1st time. Sadly things didnt go as i would have liked. The waitress was super nice and helpful have 2 say don't remember her name but had Super Bright Red hair. She was quick 2 take our orders. But once the food came out thats when things went south. Mayb it was a bad day...again it was my 1st time....the chips they sent out tasted rancid. Like a old oil taste. Thankfully the salsa helped finish half of them. I was surprised when i asked the waitress if the grilled fish n shrimp plate was a fillet she said yes....it ended coming out as crumbled fish under the shrimp noooo way a whole fillet. The tast was of just tomatoes. It needed pepper and salt. The rice was good also the beans. My sister ordered the Puffy tacos.....Which had nooo puffiness 2 them they were just like flat crispy gorditas...but omg also had that rancid old oil taste. My sis could only eat one. We took the other for our dog. Our friends ordered 2 Plates of the asada mini tacos. They thankfully had no complaints. My dad as 2 margaritas the original lime then the strawberry Margarita. We tried them also and were good but for us were on the stronger side. Sadly the worst part of the night was....Yes even though the waitress does tell you bcareful hot plates.....omg the were Super Hot not even sure why. My friends little girl sadly tried 2 get the salt and touched the plate w/her arm. Her arm instantly got red. We told the waitress if we could have ice in a bag. She very quickly got that for us and thank God the redness started 2 go away but poor thing said it hurt alot. In all wasn't the cheerful birthday dinner we planned for our friend, but like i said could have just been a bad day for us. Its iffy if we will go back but i really can't say...
Read moreI'm not one to give negative reviews unless a place deserves it. I dined in with my 78 year old Mother and my brother. We were having a decent time until a homeless man around mid to late 20s sat across from us on the same side of the table as me. He would stare at me then look away quickly and start to laugh. He did this about 7 times. I would stare back at him and he would laugh louder. Our waitress asked him if he was ordering food and only asked for coffee. We felt very uncomfortable. Our food arrived and as we ate he kept looking at us and laughing. I told my family I lost my appetite and they agreed we should leave, my brother was very upset. My Mother and brother left to go to the truck and I stayed to get a box for my food. I showed the waitress my Veteran ID and told her my brother was active duty and she said only I could get the discount since he was outside, ok fair enough. When I went to the register to pay I told the 3 employees that we felt very uncomfortable due to the homeless man and the lady just said," I'm sorry he comes here a lot and when we tell him to leave he gets angry so..." I told her he must be mentally ill because of the way he was acting. What made it worse was they are willing to lose 3 customers because they are scared to due anything. If they ask him to leave and he doesn't then that is trespassing and you call the police!!!! But no they cater to a homeless man rather than to paying customers. I will never eat at any Las Palapas ever again, well its not like I ate there a lot anyways. Just be alert...
