I’m a local and craving Mexican food is something that always happens when one lives in San Antonio but my experience at the restaurant today wasn’t like the others. My review isn’t based upon the food itself but the absolutely terrible and neglectful service of the employees. My meal was great, fajita nachos is a plate you can never go wrong on choosing but upon arrival of our waitress, Whom indicated it was her birthday today, we decided to leave a good tip as a birthday treat. The first situation that was bothersome, the entree of chips with salsa that took almost as long as our plates of food. In fact, we asked another waitress if she’d be kind enough to get that for us. It was minor, we brushed it off but upon waiting for refills on our drinks we watched our waitress and another as they gossiped in the corner of the dining area, that’s when we started getting upset. We sought out help from another waitress asking if we can just have a plate to go, she agreed but before leaving to grab it she looked at the check that had been left by our waitress the moment our food came out and added a tea on to the check. She explained that our waitress forgot to charge the tea and with that left to go get the to-go plate. My mother and I remembered the tea came with the special that my mother had gotten and began to get frustrated, knowing that’s another thing we’d have to wait more time on them to fix. Unsurprisingly, we were left waiting for the to-go box watching as the same waitress took off her apron, leaving out the door with her purse, obviously clocking out for the day. I spotted boxes sitting at the tea station and stood up, walking over and grabbing one myself, packing up my food and going to pay. What do you know, our waitress is standing at the counter talking to another employee and we ask her to cash us out. She tries to charge the tea and I remind her about the daily special that had the tea come with no charge, she agreed but upon getting the receipt, she still charged a good couple of dollars. We asked what the extra charge could be and she informed us they charged for the to-go cup and to-go box. The same to-go box that I had to get up and grab myself after waiting for 10 minutes. It was a very frustrating experience and I’m glad that I didn’t give her that birthday tip that I was going to give her in the beginning of our meal. It’s probably a good idea to just order food from the drive thru rather than taking time out of your day to just sit and waste your time with such terrible customer service. With that being said, I’ll be taking my money and trying elsewhere such as Taqueria Arandas which is right...

Used to be good. For the past year the tacos have gotten smaller and the beans are very runny. I kept going there out of habit and one of their waitresses, I forget her name, but the one with the limp is very very good and a very hard worker. When I started going through the drive-thru later in the morning they have a different cashier and she charged me about $0.80 more for the same exact order. Finally I asked her about it and she got huffy and told me that it was right. I blew it off but then pulled up the calculator and added up the prices on the sign and added the tax and it was less than what she kept charging me. When I brought this to her attention she said that she was charging me $0.75 for the to-go cup on my fountain drink through the drive-thru and rattled off a bunch of stuff under her breath and then the next thing I know the owner is at the window. I told him what was going on and he didn't know what the prices were first of all. Then he said that it's an old sign. I told him that he needed to change the prices on his sign then and he didn't know anything about charging $0.75 for the togo cup, which is perfectly fine if you dine in but when you go through the drive-thru how else are you going to get a fountain drink? So he says what we're not going to change the signs and kind of waved his hand as if to shoo me off. So that made my decision easy that I should have made a long time ago. Arandas, about a block or so down on the other side of the street, is much...
Read moreMy wife and I were looking for a restaurant in San Antonio that served menudo with pig feet. I will say this, if you like it then this is the place you want to go to. The Wait Staff is very polite and courteous and on point. We ordered the large menudo. Their corn tortillas are wonderful and they're made there instead of store bought. They have wheelchair accessibility and clean restrooms. I don't know if they serve alcohol or not. They have parking, but it depends when you get there. Parking spots might become prime real estate because they are busy with so many customers. It's a good place to get a quick bite to eat, or to sit down be served and relax. This is our spot for menudo with pig feet now along with other items on the menu. We forgot to take any photos because of our excitement that they had what we were looking for. It appears that it seems how they feel from day to day whether they have a Military Discount or not. Google shows that they do. The last few times we have eaten there we have been told yes, then another time no. I wonder why their rating has gone down to 4.1 stars. Today on September 6th 2025 my wife and I ate breakfast and they told me that they don't have a Military Discount. I just wish they would make up their minds about a Military Discount instead of flip flopping every time we...
