BUYER BEWARE You will be punished for acts of God. tl;dr - delivery delayed by rain and hail, which cause the Doordash driver to crush the pizza in rage. Store refused refund.
Before I begin, let it be known that I waited 5 business days before making this review.
Normally, Marcos will use their delivery employees to deliver their food. This fateful night, they decided to outsource to Doordash.
Everything was business as usual until a sudden hail storm forced the driver to take cover. I was in constant communication with the driver and was understanding about the delay. Especially since the app hadn't updated my drop-off pin.
This ultimately cause frustration for the dasher since they were not only on the wrong side of the apartment complex but stuck in the rain for about 30 minutes.
By the time the dasher was able to complete the order, it's had been an hour since I initially ordered, and the store was definitely closed by that point. I told the dasher it was no one's fault and parted ways amicably despite the dasher yelling at me for sending them to the wrong place.
I put it out of my mind since Doordash does NOT represent Marco's. I discovered then that the pizza was completely destroyed. It had been trashed and tossed. I called Doordash to complain, but they only offered credit, which is less than half of the cost, or a refund.
I repeatedly asked if only the sizable tip to the dasher could be removed, but it was no good. I reluctantly choose the refund. Doordash then contacted Marco's. Whomever answered must have had a bad day because they refused the refund and yelled at the Doordash representative.
I hung up with Doordash, not really caring if I got a refund or not, but then Marco's owner called me. Unfortunately, I did not answer because it was already late at night, and I did not hear the phone.
He promised to refund me and even added several $10 off coupons as an apology.
Five business days later: no refund.
Like I said, I don't care. The food is great and I've had nothing but great service from the Marco's employees.
BUT don't let them use Doordash. They're the cause of the friction in this story.
Enjoy...
Read moreI'm being a bit generous on some of my star ratings. The management is completely clueless and worthless and absolutely incompetent! The manager was gone almost the entire time I was there eating leaving one person there to run the show. There were some other reasons behind my comment on the management. The cashier was friendly and OK. She had no voice at all. Her voice was low almost inaudible and difficult to even hear with the exception of a high pitch squeak like that of a mouse. And she seemed almost as timid as a scared mouse and showed no real confidence. A recipe for disaster in customer service! The restaurant itself was filthy. The men's restroom was filthy including a large trash can than clearly had not been emptied in at least a week. The food was OK to mediocre. Toppings were slim from what I'm used to from marcos. Food was hot and poorly served.
I definitely would not go back to that location or order from that location ever again. Perhaps there's a better marcos to order from. Or gotta be much better pizzerias in the area to order from!
I will give my experience maybe two stars because squeaker the cashier was sorta friendly. But certainly not a person to be alone or be the face a public customer service. Food was mediocre at best. Certainly not up to the standards I've previously experienced from other locations. But seriously don't waste your time at...
Read moreI order here frequently because it’s less than a mile from my house but I’m starting to think we need to drive farther for pizza. Most of the time, the customer service is terrible. I usually ignore it. But a recent visit was the worst. The worker didn’t acknowledge me for almost 5 minutes, despite me being the only one in the restaurant and her having looked at me several times. When she finally came over, she didn’t speak to me. At all. Just stared, so I told her I was there to pick up and gave my name. She grabbed the pizza, put it on the counter and walked away. I always order a special crust topping and it’s never done, so I opened the box to check. Sure enough, it’s wrong. I said,”excuse me ma’am, may I have the crust topping corrected?” She walks over, again doesn’t say a word. Grabs the pizzas and pours the melted butter all over the pizza mostly, very carelessly, missing the crust, sprinkles the topping and closes the box. Puts it back on the counter and walks away. Not a single word spoken to me. I figured whatever, move along. Just ordered pizza and cinnamon bites last night, my husband picked up the order this time so he didn’t check. Get home and the crust topping is missing and we have no icing for the cinnamon bites. At this point, we will likely just drive to a different location because it’s consistently a...
