Tried this spot after seeing about it on social media! I was really excited to have some Japanese food options in San Antonio, but unfortunately, their food only resembled Japanese konbini food.
I tried their musubi, yakitori, and several onigiris. The musubi would have been acceptable had it not been absolutely drenched in a sweet soy glaze. The chicken on the yakitori was cooked nicely, but again, smothered in the same soy glaze. Disappointing. I liked the onigiri on the first bite (rice was cooked decently well), but a few bites later realized it was heavily oversalted. I couldn't finish it.
My biggest takeaway was that this place caters specifically to the American palette. Every option I tried was a far, far cry from the real thing. If you haven't tried real konbini food, then this spot might be a fun experience. However, for people that found this place hoping to have a nostalgic experience, this will not scratch that itch for you.
Lastly, the prices are insane. They're charging 4X (or more) the price of actual konbini food & the quality doesn't even come close. It's...

A friend told me about it this place and I immediately knew I had to try it, specifically, their onigiri and masubi. Noting they opened at 2PM today, my husband and I went at around 4:40PM. Not surprised, they were totally sold out! Turns out they sold out three times already in under 3hrs but the gentleman in the back said he could make whatever we wanted, fresh. About 20min later (14 people entered the place as we paid and waited in our car) the food came out and it was delicious and worth the wait. Their prices are reasonable and right on, about $4-5 per masubi/onigiri. Flavors were simple but great and the packaging is convenient. Their selection of snacks is also good and their sweet breads were 10/10. I didn’t get to try their boba drinks, but you best believe we are going to become regulars of this place.
We will be at the Grand Opening Jan 25th....
Read moreWent there on Saturday and I got the bubble tea and spam musubi because thats all that was left, it was good! I do have a problem with the service however. When I did go it was busy and it seemed like the employees were having a hard time keeping up with the supply and demand. It’s advertised on their instagram that they do take orders if customers want to, but after waiting in line they wouldn’t let me place my order because “it was busy.” I think thats kinda unfair to customers who have been waiting for a while, it’s not good business practice. If your site advertises something you should do it, otherwise you’re wasting peoples time. Hopefully they can iron these issues out in the future because it is a cute place and the food...
