Ah, Panda Express, my old fast food friend. When the craving for American-Chinese comfort food strikes, there's no place quite like it.
First things first, their Orange Chicken is the stuff of legends. It's like the fast food version of Peking duck - crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and glazed with that tangy-sweet orange sauce. Man, it's the perfect comfort food after a long day.
Panda's Beijing Beef and Kung Pao Chicken deserve some love, too. The beef has a tangy and sweet vibe going on, and the chicken? Spicy, nutty, and just right. The veggies in the Kung Pao give it a bit of a health halo, so you can convince yourself it's not all that bad.
You can't forget about the sides either. Chow Mein or Fried Rice? It's like asking to pick between my favorite songs - can't do it. Both are great in their own right. Chow mein has a nice bit of crunch and chew to it, while the fried rice is savory and perfectly seasoned.
However, it's not all rainbows and unicorns at Panda Express. The place can get busy, and sometimes you can feel the rush in the food. Soggy noodles, undercooked rice, or lukewarm entrees can be a letdown when they occur. This location has a tendency to run out of items during the lunch rush or within a couple hours of closing time. Also, if you're expecting authentic Chinese cuisine, well, you're barking up the wrong bamboo tree. This is as American as it gets.
In terms of service, the staff is usually friendly and they keep the line moving, even when it's out the door. The interior is usually clean and bright, although nothing fancy. This location doesn’t have a ton of seating available, so you may prefer to take your food to go.
In the end, Panda Express is like that favorite sweater you've had for years. It's not high fashion, and it might not be perfect, but it's comfortable, reliable, and sometimes it just feels right. When you want something tasty, quick, and budget-friendly, Panda Express hits the spot. I give it a solid 3.5...
Read moreI moved to this location a few months. I was excited to see a Panda Express near our home since our usual Chinese restaurant is now farther away. Went there a few days ago and ordered two panda bowls. Handed them my card to pay, they took quite a while so I waited. They came back and said my transaction could not be processed. I handed them another card, same thing. They took quite a bit came back and said my card could not be processed. The girl at the drive thru asked for my receipt so I handed it to her but I should of asked for a copy. They came back and couldn't figure out the problem so I just canceled my order because I was already running late for work. I left, went across the street to the ATM and withdrew some money to check if my card was working. I was able to withdraw money so that tells me something was wrong on their side. I didn't really think anything of it until I arrived at work and checked my bank account online. To my surprise there was a total of four charges from Panda Express totaling $22.30 which was more than my total $12.00. Great, I was charged for food I didn't even receive. So now what. I don't even have a receipt or an order number. I called them immediately and the manager said I should see my account credited by 6:00 PM. Two days later and guess what, nothing has been credited. I messaged corporate with my bank information but have yet to receive a response. I called the manager again, said she was sending in the forms to corporate today and I should receive a response in several weeks. What is going on here Panda Express. I want my money back so please look into this situation...
Read moreLast Sunday, I went to “Panda Express” near Lackland AFB in San Antonio with my friends. Our colleagues at the AFB recommended it mentioning it was a great dining place for international students like us. The main reason, they said, was “Panda Express” was known for its fast service and generous portions, especially with the spicy food. I would like to share that it lived up to its reputation. Besides the tasty food, “Panda Express” had a lot to offer. Parking was easy, and the location was super convenient. The food was really fresh. We tried Kung Pao Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Grilled Teriyaki and, of course, Chicken Orange. Panda Express serves lots of great Chinese options. I had a big plate of Chicken Orange with Fried Rice and Broccoli Beef, all for under $15, which was a steal. The staff was friendly, making the whole dining experience even better. They provides a fortune cookie with every order, a cookie with a statement on a piece of paper predicting your future. Mine was “The way you live will give you happiness and prosperity”. The place was spotless, and everything we needed for a good meal was already there. I even noticed they had a drive-through and an awesome takeout service, which a lot of people seemed to appreciate. The only downside according to what I heard was that it gets super busy, so the wait times could be long. Also, I felt the fried rice could be a bit more seasoning. But overall, I'd definitely recommend Panda Express for anyone looking for tasty, affordable Chinese food and...
