Ordered pizza and wings this past Friday on the app. The estimated time it would take was 50 minutes with a 3 yr old who on the verge of being hangry I was a little concerned.
After an hour and a half goes by I call the location and am put on hold. My wife throws in the towel and makes our 3 yr old a sandwich. After being on hold for another 15 minutes the delivery driver shows up and I tell him the situation. He immediately rolls his eyes and tells me he is going to call the manager. At that point I tell him just leave the pizza and credit my card for the inconvenience and I'll chalk it up to they are having a bad night. He says he can't do that and leaves...
While still on hold on my phone I call this location from my wife's phone and they answer, I ask to speak to a manager. Within a few minutes Tim (no last name) gets on the line and I explain the situation. He says he will credit my card but that's it. I tell him that's not the way you treat loyal customers, he doesn't seem to care at all. I ask for his last name because the next call I plan to make is to corporate. He puts the phone down and I hear brief laughing in the background before he hangs up on my wife and I.
After being in both the food service and customer service industries for over 20 years I'm floored that a major chain pizza place would treat their customers like this. After calling corporate they say a leadership team member would call me back. Its Sunday night and I have yet to receive this call.
Never again will I order another Papa John's pizza unless someone wants to make this right.
*UPDATE - Still waiting for that call. Seriously, all I want is for an apology for really bad service and I'll loyally come back. Haven't had Papa Johns since this...
Read moreFirst time I have ever ordering from here and it will be my last! I get there and there is 3 employees, one tossing dough, one baking and one putting labels on empty boxes. I stand there patiently waiting on some kind of customer service. Almost 10mins later I try to kindly get someone's attention. Five attempts (3 being loud enough to be heard outside the door) and still nothing. So I Google their number and while dialing it some young comes out from the back and is standing less the 3 feet from me doesn't even bother to ask if I've been helped or not. 2 rings and he answers the phone. While staring straight at him I proceed to tell him that I would like to know if my pizza was ready yet, cause status update online and over the phone says it's ready. I've been standing here for almost 15mins and I tried 5 times to get someone's attention. At that point we hang up the phone and he says it's almost ready. When it's finally done he calls out really loud "Twilight". My response is "Twila" and as he's handing it to me I simply said "Really i haven't heard that since elementary school? Come on it's not that freaking hard. Especially since there's an "A" at the end and not an "ight". Although his inability to read explains why I got a Hawaiian pizza with regular tomato sauce when I ordered it with heavy BBQ sauce. After 6 hrs of working on my car, I was so tired and so looking forward to curling up with a movie and my absolute favorite pizza...but lousy customer service, a very immature manager (with apparently absolutely no training what so ever) and an extremely bland pizza (so bad it should have been used as a display only), completely ruined my night and the chance of me or my adult kids ever going back...
Read moreOverall alright, but I would go elsewhere. 2.5 stars.
So despite the bad reviews, I was hungry for pizza and always liked Papa John’s so I thought I would give them a chance. I called on Sunday at 8:44pm (Mother’s Day). Not a peak time, but a bit busy according to the online reviews.
Upon calling I was immediately asked if I could be placed on hold, I said yes and was put on hold at 8:44pm. At 8:52pm he picked up the phone and apologized for the wait. Put in my order, asked about specials and ended up ordering the special (2 med 2 topping $13.98). It was for pick up and he said 15-20min.
Got a little lost getting there due to misleading navigation. It’s down Jones Maltsberger further than McDonalds and Pizza Hut. I called them, they asked to put me on hold, and I asked for directions. They were gracious enough to guide me there.
Arrived 9:11pm and the pizza was ready. Waited a minute while the three guys were all around something (a computer?) figuring something out. Had to ask for the extra garlic sauces I ordered over the phone.
Pizza was hot. Honestly, taste was a bit off and disappointing. I’ve had a lot of Papa John’s pizza over my life and it was different. My wife said not enough sauce and just tasted like eating a bunch of bread. Minor details, but the ingredients on one was more toward the middle and not so much on the edges, also the garlic sauces weren’t hot so the butter wasn’t melted when I opened it up. Not quite what I was hoping for to hit the spot. It was pizza, but I’ll probably go...
