Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in San Antonio

This review is for the Papa John's outside 1604 at Bandera in the Helotes area.

The pizza itself is good. I have always enjoyed the flavor of Papa John's pizza.

The service, however, needs work. I have ordered several times from this particular store and have found that quality control is lacking.

I order square cut every time. More often than not, the pizza is cut triangular. Or, it is cut triangular, then the person realizes it was supposed to be square cut, so I end up with some pretty interesting shapes. It doesn't affect the taste of the pizza, so I am not complaining too hard about this, but it does illustrate the trend of a lack of attention to detail.

My real complaint pertains to the pic I am attaching. The cheese sticks were a complete failure. First, they were supposed to be cheese STICKS, not squares. Its like someone thought I was going to stick toothpicks in them and serve them to my guests as hors d'oeuvres. And apparently this person thought half of said guests were lactose intolerant.

What really gets me is that someone saw this, cut it up, and thought everything was cool.

Management....your crew needs to do better.

I had placed a order online and went to pick it up in store. When I arrived I told them my name and proceeded to pay. The guy who rang me up handed me the receipt and asked me to sign it but there were no pens to sign it with. I asked if they had a pen so I could sign it. He proceeded to look for one and went back into the kitchen he got distracted and proceeded to tell a story to other employees for a good five minutes. This whole time my order is ready I’m just waiting on a pen. When he finally came back he had forgotten he was looking for a pen. I asked again for something to sign with he finally sighed and proceeded to open a pouch connected to his belt and said “I guess I’ll let you use one from my personal stash” Once he gave me the pen he pointed to the tip portion of the receipt and said “a tip would be nice” A tip is for great customer service or someone delivering the pizza to my house. This whole process of picking up my pizza should of been quick in and out. I would have left without signing the receipt but they didn’t give me my pizza until I signed. Placed an order with a person said to be the manager (Robert) paid for the pizza when it arrived and the delivery man left we opened the box and realized they had not cut the pizza into slices. I called and asked to speak to the management. It was Robert again and when I told him what they did not do he laughed out loud hysterically and said he must have forgotten to cut the pizza, and asked me what could he do to help. My children were appalled by his laughing response since I had him on speaker. I told him he could come to get his pizza and give me a refund. He said no and hung up the phone. I called back and he answered the phone again and said that we was having issues with his phone but there was nothing he could do and for me to go find a knife to cut the pizza. We were staying at the Embassy where they have a restaurant but they were already closed. So there was nowhere to get a kitchen knife. I am very disappointed in the service and I will be calling corporate and filing a complaint. We did not...
