Pho Sure — Restaurant in San Antonio

HORRIBLE!! Wish I could give a negative review! I went to San Antonio for the weekend, and found this place online and saw the reviews so figured I’d order online for pick up their hours state 11am-8-45pm so I placed my order around like 810 and headed straight there with the pick up time saying 830 I get there around 820 and figured I’d go in and wait only to find the place completely CLOSED!! Yes CLOSED!! No sign on the door saying closing early nothing, call the number no answer. Meanwhile my card has been charged for this food that’s “supposed” to be ready for me to pick up at a restaurant that’s supposed to be open that’s not. I call the 800 number I found on the ordering website (luckily I found one cause it was only showing the stores number) call them and tell them was going and see if they can refund me as I am now out that money and still need to get food. They tell me “we will have to contact to restaurant and owner first to get your refund started” like ok how do you do that when the place is closed. Ok whatever, I give them the benefit of the doubt and they say they email when the refund is processed ok no problem. Fast forward to the next day, nothing, I call them again, they haven’t been able to get in contact with the restaurant or owner still and it’s Sunday so the restaurant is now closed so I get no answer when trying to call! So again I wait till the next day, check in with them, nothing, same answer, haven’t been able to get ahold of them, I wait till the restaurant opens and try calling the restaurant several times and the phone goes straight to voicemail, mind you this place is supposed to be open and has a phone just going straight to voicemail, weird, and now I’ve been waiting two days for a refund on food I never received being told I have to wait until they get in contact with the restaurant manager or owner! Now I am getting mad! So finally later that afternoon I received a email stating I was going to be refund finally! I was soo happy as the charge was still processing in my bank (like it had been for almost three days) so I’m think yes it will hopefully just refund and everything will be good to go! Right! Nope! I wake up the next day (after my refund is supposed to be “issued” and have fully been charged for this now!! I now have yet another message into them to see what is going on now as I am on almost day four of just trying to get my money back for something I never received! This has been absolutely ridiculous! IF YOU ARE GOING TO CLOSE YOUR RESTAURANT DOWN EARLY, OUTSIDE OF YOUR BUSINESS HOURS THEN SHUT OFF YOUR ONLINE ORDERING! And if you do not then make it right ASAP and return the customers money and not have them stuck waiting days and days like this with still not having their money returned to them!! You as a business owner would not like to wait days for a customer to pay you for your services right? So why make a customer wait days and days for their money back on services that were...

Tried this place for the first time yesterday with my boyfriend. Let me start off with the simple fact that the food was AMAZING. The veggie potstickers were really crisp and delicious. The restaurant offers many vegetarian options which I really and truly apprecatite. There was one very hard working woman who I assume is the owner. The other staff specifically a younger and very customer service lacking waitress was extremely off puting. Now the down falls. As seen in a previous review the restaurant is extremely lacking in cleanliness. The walls, window seals, floors Etc definitely need a good coat of soap and water. The atmosphere is extremely quiet with no music or entertainment of any form. I wouldn't recommend this place as a date night but more something for a quick bite or maybe a place to eat by yourself. Sadly with the first entree my boyfriend ordered the very off-putting waitress set it down and there was one of her hair's on top of the food. She offered no apologies and there was no compensation. He instantly sent it back and ordered something else and we reluctantly ate there but like I said previously the food was delicious. This restaurant could definitely be something amazing if they had money to renovate or competent staff or just up the cleaning game. Not sure if we will be back because of the hair and the dirtiness which is sad because the food is truly amazing and caters to my hard to find...

Overall the food wasn’t bad. My issue is the value of what I am paying for. This is my first time coming here, did a pick-up order. The staff is very very friendly as soon as we walked into the door, seems like a really nice place.

Getting home and opening up the food however was a rather underwhelming experience. I ordered 2 pho meals, one was 2 meat (meatballs and rare beef) and the other was the combination of all meats. The flavor of the pho isn’t bad, it’s not the best I’ve ever had but it was okay. The biggest issue was the amount of meat they gave especially for the 2 meat combo. It was a few slivers of rare beef and 4 pieces of meatball, which is really just 2 meatballs cut in half. The reality here is that you are basically paying for broth and noodles, and $10ish dollars is pretty steep for broth and noodles.

The next issue is the bahn mi pork sandwich. The bread was not fresh, the meat and sandwich overall was dry, no mayo, hardly any pickled toppings, definitely not worth the $8.

Lastly, the taro boba tea was a disappointment. The flavor was good, but for $8 you get a small cup full of ice and about 20% tea, 10% boba pearls. So, here you again are overpaying for what you are receiving, we basically paid for ice and the plastic of the cup and straw.
