I had stopped going to Rita's for almost a year. And I returned a couple of weeks back. I will not be returning. Ever. My wife ordered huevos rancheros and we waited. My tacos arrived first. Missing the cheese in carne guisada tacos (60 cents extra). I wait for waitress to return. Finally, She does. All they do is stand behind counter and play around at food expediting window. She takes my tacos back. Wife gets her Huevos Rancheros. Not over easy, scrambled. And missing sauce. We wait. Her food goes back. My tacos arrive. Wrong tacos. They are the tables next to us. We wait. I get my tacos. I finished eating and my wife's food arrives after I finish my food and coffee. What should have been a relaxing time to enjoy my Wife's company over breakfast turned out to be a very unpleasant experience. The blonde, older, waitress that attended us, spent all her time flirting and playing around with the two male waiters, at the window where food comes out. The elderly female cooks in the back are talking away, loudly. Getting food mixed up. They are too old to be back there. I saw other tables returning food. Not once did the manager apologize for our horrible breakfast there. She's just engrossed with running the register and making money off of religious c d's and church pamphlets, at the register area. Read moreThis low rating is about customer service. On 7/22/25 the owner herself, Rita, had such an embarrassing lapse of customer service. My mother had ordered the lunch Pork Chop plate (2 chops) cut up. She was unsatisfied with the amount of pork chop she received because previous times when’s she ordered the same thing, it was plenty more. This time it seemed as she got half.
So before eating even a bite, she complained to the waitress. The waitress took the food and came back with the owner, Rita. They tried to spew some bullcrap in Spanish that it was because it has no bones, the meat being cut up, that that’s the reason it appears smaller. Yet, like I said my mother has ordered the same thing multiple times before and the quantity of cut up meat was always significantly more.
After Rita sees the hesitation on my mothers face to accept it, she tells my mother in Spanish that “it’s up to you.” I, my mother, and our 3rd guest are witnesses to her words, yet upon paying she tries to still charge us for the plate. Denying in an angry tone that she never said those words. Charge us for a plate that nobody ate? Charge us for a plate that betrayed their inconsistency in pork chop servings?
After a somewhat heated argument with Rita, where she insinuates we’re not worthy to give customer service to because we returned a plate that didn’t live up to their own standard, she takes the plate off the bill and we leave. We spent almost $60 there even after she took off the pork chop plate, so this whole disagreement could not be an attempt on our part to cheat them by getting discounts. Again, my mother never even took...
Read moreThis restaurant has some of the most delicious Mexican food I have eaten. Beginning with their salsa that they serve with their chips that will make you ask for seconds, to their hot, fresh homemade tortillas. The food is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The picadillo tacos are mouthwatering and yes they have potatoes in them because a picadillo taco should have potatoes. The tacos are big and they do not skimp on the filling. The beef enchiladas are by far the best I have tasted because of the sauce. The puffy tacos are light and airy and not at all chewy or oily. The servings are all good sizes on the plates. The carne guisada is tender and very flavorful. This is one of only two places where I will order a carne guisada taco because I know it's good here. Other mexican restaurants' carne guisada tacos are always full of fat and tough meat. They have so many delicious items on their menu. As far as prices are concerned, I will say that this restaurant runs $2.99 for the picadillo tacos and $3.39 for the carne guisada tacos and $9.99 for both puffy taco and beef enchilada plate. Some might consider this pricey considering that there are plenty of Mexican restaurants selling the same food for less, yet consider the taste and quality of the food you're getting by saving a couple of bucks at...
