I'm so disappointed to have to change my review from 5 stars to 1 star. This used to be one of my favorite places. (See original review below). I hadn't eate here since the new ownership took over in January 2023 except once when I stopped just to get the hot and sour soup that I USED to love. At the time I got the NEW soup I was told the recipe had changed and they were under new ownership. I took the soup home and was disappointed that the new recipe tasted like Chinese hot and sour and not the delicious Thai Hot and sour they used to serve. At that time I thought to myself oh well. But today ordered the pad thai with chicken and the crab rangoon. When I got home and opened the boxes I was so sad to see the burned Rangoon and the dry pad thai noodles see pictures. I tasted both and almost cried at how awful they were. The cream cheese was dry and the wonton wrapper burnt and chewy. The pad thai noodles were so dry and flavorless and the chicken was dry and tasted gamey. No amount of lime juice or chili oil could fix it. I actually threw the whole thing away. It was actually worse than the little pad thai packages you can buy at the grocery store. I am sad to say this is my last time eating here. It's really very sad because it used to be so good. Such a shame. Below is my original review before the new owner. This restaurant is extremely clean! Even the dishes and glasses are shining and spotless. It almost looks brand new. It also smells very fresh and clean when you walk in. The food is delicious and the service very good. We tried the cream cheese wonton, red curry with chicken (the chicken was VERY tender), beef pad see ew, and chicken pad thai. Had lots of leftovers and they were even more delicious the next day. I would have liked to have more chicken and beef in the entrées but the flavors were very good. Looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes.

We stumbled upon Thai Esan & Noodle House while searching for a Thai spot in San Antonio. Originally, we were headed to another restaurant, but it happened to be closed for a break—so we gave this place a try, and we’re glad we did! The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed when we arrived, and the staff seated us promptly. We ordered from the lunch special menu, which came with one entrée, tea, and soup—great value! We tried the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Pad See Ew. In my opinion, the Pad Thai stood out the most—flavorful, well-balanced, and perfectly cooked. The Panang Curry and Pad See Ew were also tasty, though a bit more mild in flavor. Vegetarian options are available, which is always appreciated. Service was efficient, and everything arrived hot and fresh. If you’re in the area and craving Thai food, this spot is worth checking out for a casual, satisfying meal.

I'd eaten here before and haven't had any issues. The food quality was good and we enjoyed it but i guess spending $34 for lunch for my dad and I left me wanting a better experience. Since my dad was in town and loves thai food, i took him here to get their Drunken Noodles. He loves shrimp, so i requested this dish with both beef and shrimp which they said would be an additional $3, which I wasn't concerned about. Our food came out promptly but I guess I was expecting more. There were only 3 shrimp on each of our plates. With shrimp prices at about $6/$7 a lb, i was expecting a bit more. Usually, at other places where I order the same dish, they don't usually skimp on the shrimp, beef or noodles. You could say I was disappointed and i probably won't be ordering this dish here again - I didn't really like the feeling of them ramming me without any K-Y.

Very uncomfortable and unpleasant experience here tonight. It was around 8:15, my daughter and I entered into the restaurant. There were two employees (one Asian woman standing and a man who was mopping). There was also one couple already sitting and dining in. The restaurant would be closing at 9p. No one greeted us. I had to ask, “May we dine in?”. The woman said yes. We sat down and I asked about vegan options and right away her answer was that they didn’t have anything. But I pointed at the spring or egg rolls on the appetizer menu (1st option) and she said that it was vegan. Then I asked about the panang curry. She said it was made with milk. I found that strange as most Thai restaurants make it with coconut milk. Apparently they make it with half and half and She said the cook would not make any accommodations for me. 😬. Since they couldn’t modify anything for me my daughter didn’t want to eat there (she eats meat) and we kind of had to leave. Now, a gentleman went in right after me and asked the same lady what the curries are made with and she told him coconut milk and half and half. I asked her one more time if they could just not put half and half and she declined saying it was because of the owners and they wouldn’t do it. I’ve never had an experience like this. Most vegans turn to Thai food because of the vast array of options available. I definitely would not recommend this place. The sad part is that I had just told my daughter that I have been wanting to try this place out for a long time!!! I think I dodged a bullet. I recommend trying out Little Thai Chef nearby on Babcock if you want better service and modifications if you have...

Our family of three had dinner this evening and our bill was approximately $110. We told the waiter at the end of the meal that the meatball app was dry and hard and if he could please see about taking it off of the bill since we only took two bites from it. The waiter came back and said the owner inspected it and wouldn’t take it off the bill, but rather discount the item because it’s prepared the way they intended. When the waiter came back with the bill, we saw the the discount for the appetizer was $1. Feeling somewhat annoyed and insulted, I reluctantly gave the waiter my credit card. I asked to speak to the owner at that time and tried to politely explain to her that the appetizer was hard and dry. She proceeded to basically argue with us for the next five minutes about a $10 appetizer saying it’s high quality, beef meatballs that are very popular, essentially defending the poorly prepared dish. We tried to explain to her that she is losing repeat customer business of at least $100 per visit over a $10 appetizer that was sub par. For whatever reason she did not get it and we continued to go back and forth for sometime while we waited for the waiter to return with my credit card. Eventually, she took our bill back from the waiter and took the appetizer off of it after I said she doesn’t need to worry about that. It’s truly unfortunate because the rest of the meal was really good although overpriced. If you go there hopefully there’s nothing wrong with your meal because it will ruin your evening trying to deal with the owner. It’s unfortunate but...
