Tapatio De Jalisco Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in San Antonio

I love this place! My family and I come here regularly after church. The gentlemen behind the counters are attentive and really sweet and I always enjoy interacting with them. However, wait staff (one) needs to be nicer, perhaps smile more and be more attentive like money depends on it. I will always respect a food server because I know its not easy to deal with different personalities, however, I am ALL ABOUT service. I've been a server for 10years and know it's tough. But our waitress (Terre..spelling?) Was EXTREMELY rude and looked miserable waiting tables. If she was having a "bad day" which is understandable it seems as though it was taken out on us. My parents who are the nicest people EVER, asked a couple of questions about the menu and instead of a, "sorry we dont have that" or "no I'm sorry".. she said "no"..and walked off and all of us at the table were sitting there taken back. Additionally, when everyone at the table got their food other than me (again, dont mind it happens) my Dad asked her, "Ma'am is my daughters plate coming" (in Spanish because we ARE BILINGUAL).. she said "yeah, I know" and walked off. Again, I love this place thats why its 3 stars and not 2, but this is the first time in a long time I did not enjoy coming here because of this specific lady. I felt bad for not tipping my usual 30% but she didnt deserve more than what I left her. Sorry Tapatio maybe talk to her about customer service.......

The place was not too dirty, only 2 customers when my son and I walked in. We ordered 2 enchilada plates it took about 15minutes for the woman to bring us our food. The rice did not look too good it looked like it came out of a can or microwave with Green beans, corn, peas and carrots. We let that slide, but he took one bite of his enchilada and saw a hair in his food. I called the waitress told her she looks at my son and asks me (in Spanish) if it was his the hair in the food was short, my sons hair is very long. The other woman brings the food and now shes upset because she had get off her huge rump. I'm an older Hispanic woman who knows good Mexican food, who cooks good Mexican food, old school. That was not good. I do not recommend this place if you enjoy good Mexican food. This was the first time there in years since the place changed hands, I won't be going back ever. When going out to eat with my family I expect good food, friendly people, a clean place and decent prices. That was by far the WORST place EVER. We are from out of town. Visiting for the first time at this restaurant. It is so shameful. The lady that charged us which was also the server. Charged us tip on my bill, when we had already left a tip at the table. We were a bable of 7. I alone left $10.00 for the service. Even thought it was not the best service I’ve had and out of courtesy and because I myself work at a restaurant as a manager. My order was $21.00 plus $3.40 gratuity. The rest of the guests with me left their tip also and I’m more than sure they were charged as well. They should inform the customer especially if paying cash what they are being charged for. The server later on saw me putting the money at the table and told me just to leave it there. I don’t mind leaving a larger tip. Just be honest to tell us it’s been charged already. I just resently got back home and was looking at my receipts and find charged the tip. I know prices have gone up that’s why I didn’t care to question why so much… * People next time don’t leave a tip at the table cause you’ll be charged at...
