Awesome find! I'm not familiar with much African food, the nice woman at the counter said it's Nigerian. Count me in! My dish was a "soup" it seemed maybe like a stew? to me. It was very well spiced. It's a finger food and comes with a large ball of dough. I wasn't a big fan of the dough ball. However, i used the remnant of my beef patty and 👌 that was excellent! My nephew had the fried rice w/chicken. It had an awesome Red sauce. I kept asking him for nibbles of it. What really capped it off was the plantains, I'm not a "picky" guy at all, but I worked in a Jamaican place when I was younger and I do expect a lot if a place will offer plantains.. These were great!! The light sweetness perfectly balanced the spiciness of our two dishes. The price was very affordable, and for the portion size I'd say quite good. A previous reviewer stated there wasn't a lot of meat, while true, the meat portion was all that was needed. The only thing I would say was just "ok" was the meat patty, I like mine to be spicier. I would still recommend them as they were large and fresh. I will take my dad there as soon as I can. I expect to upload more photos shortly. Enjoy!!! Fyi- The young man that served us and the woman (chef?) that helped at the counter, had very thick accents... I didn't always catch the specific word(s), but honestly we communicated just fine.

I am basing my review not necessarily on the food but the poor customer service that I received.I have came to this restaurant multiple times in order to food. However this is the last and final time that me or any of my friends or family will order food from this place. I ordered food feb 7th on online , the resturant apparently was closed, however, still processed my order. On the seventh, when I had notified and results to the owner, they stated that they would go ahead and provide me food which was 3 weeks later, when I finally got there and ordered my food. It took them 2 hours before they had served me. During that time. They never offered a condolences or an apology.Or even water while I waited and watch other people get their food before I did. Secondly. They charge me for additional plantain and then told me that I would have to pay additional be for pandayam although i've been there multiple times and it comes with the soup. I believe customer service is very important.Honoring your customers and thanking them for your business. This place does not honor that nor do they care about their customers go there if you want but know that you are not valued.

I saw Kobams mentioned on a Facebook group I'm part of and I was curious about its foods. I've had Ethiopian food before but not sure how different this would be. Today, my husband and I decided to order some food to go. I knew I wanted to try the jollof rice since a few reviews mentioned it was good and I totally agree. It's got some spicy kick to it though so you've got to be ready for some heat. Had it been any spicier, I wouldn't have been able to eat it. I ordered the grilled chicken, goat and whole tilapia, all with jollof rice. Very generous portions of jollof rice so we have plenty to eat for a few days. The goat was both our favorite. Very tender and looked like oxtail with the bone. The chicken and tilapia had good flavor but was slightly overcooked. Loved the plantains that come with the meal. I was curious about the Jamaica ginger beer and Vita Malt but was told that they're on the sweet side. I chose not to try. When the weather cools down further, we would be curious to try the soups.

When I came here to order, my friends and I ordered normally. We waited and got our food. My friends had ordered the drink that was the Top orange. I had ordered the Top pamplemousse.

When the waiter came by, he brought out 1 Top orange and 3 Top (huge) pamplemousse. I had asked him if the yellow drink (pamplemousse) was the right flavor that they wanted (which was orange). He said yes. I then showed him their online menu on my phone that has the images of what items are what, and I pointed out that no, those aren't the flavors that they picked.

Then he said "yea, we don't have any more of the orange." I'm guessing I got the last one left, but if there's something that is out of stock, they need to let us know before giving us anything. They charge extra for the large of course but we didn't ask for that. We would've preferred if the waiter came to ask us so we could make a decision.

The food was okay, the fufu was great and the meat pie was delicious, but the general food just wasn't our taste.

Now when it came to billing, they charged my friend extra than what it was supposed to be. They charged an extra 4 dollars, which isn't much, but wasn't right on the actual price of the meal + drink.

Another thing I want to point out, when my friends sat at the table, 3 minutes didn't even pass by till he asked "what do you want to eat". 2 minutes before I arrived, he finally asked them what they wanted to drink, and it took 40 minutes to just bring out the drinks. There's some more miscellaneous things but it isn't that big of a deal.

I saw a kid that was probably their kid or family member being taken care of and it's really nice, and we wanted to give the benefit of the doubt.

But when you overcharge a meal, lie about what drinks we had and not give us an option to choose something else and bring it of your own accord, and make us wait an hour for our food and 40 mins for our drinks (the restaurant was empty, it was just us), we can't just bypass that. I really didn't want to write a negative review but I couldn't just let something like that go.

Also to anyone else, the menus from 2+ years ago are not the same from now. Their menu is different than the ones taken on here, so if you want lamb, they don't...

My family and i went for dinner. I personally had a goat dish with white rice. The dish i ordered was subpar. Two skimpy pieces of goat which were mostly fat and gristle swimming in a bowl of what was basically spicy tomato puree that tasted like it had a dab of palm oil in it. The rice was plentiful but the bit of actual meat wasnt enough to make up for the 13.99 price. Also had an order fried plantains but while they were done right there was a bit of a stinky cheese taste to them which shouldnt have been in my opinion. My brother ordered some bowl of beef topped with onions. The beef was greatly overcooked but had a decent flavor otherwise. His wife had some rice with a whole tilapia and plantains. The fish was tilapia and didnt stink when it came to the table which was a nice sign. But tilapia is the cheapest fish and for 17.00 i dont think that the mound of rice justified the price difference. My mother ordered some chicken legs and a yellow rice that had peas carrots and corn. I ended up eating one of the chicken legs which was decently cooked (broiled) and seasoned well. The meat pie appetizers were lukewarm which was an insult to their otherwise decent flavor. So the four meals, two appetizers, and two extra orders of plaintains we didnt order but were charged for that my brother felt obligated to take anyway endes up costing us 90.00. Im not goin to get into the service quality or overpriced tea because i am more interesting in quality food which unfortunately they fell just a bit too short on. I definitely will not go back after this horrible first experience. Im wondering if they really deserve a 4.7 out of 5 and if so why did they fail on a saturday night. Oh well theyre laughing all the way to the...

Okay this is my opinion My husband & I are open to new things like different foods. But, this food was awful for me. While I didnt like it, but husband loved it. I spit it out quickly. Sorry, but the food had weird stuff in it with fish flavors & meat. But, good news is I tried the spicy rice & the slaw & It was different but I liked it. Just the foo foo & the main dish was yuky & not my cup of tea. So, sorry fellows I have to give you a 1star. I tried it & didn't like it. But, like I said my husband loved it. He spend like over 30 bucks for it. He said, he is glad he tried it, but since I didn't like it he won't be going back to the place. It was just too expensive for one person. My husband had gotten some & pour some onto a plate, but there was so much food left that he was going to throw it away. I said, wait a minute. Just because I didn't like it doesn't mean you are gonna throw all this food away. ( I am against wasting food) knowing there are starving people out there. So, I fixed a nice plate for my neighbor & she was grateful for the food given. She loved it. She's a black lady & she's not from Africa. But, the owners who made the food are even though my neighbor is not from Africa she is well aware of the food. So, now instead of giving her some. We'll be inviting her over to join at our dinner table next time my husband is in the mood for African food while I stick to American food or Chinese food....lol...you know what I'll change my ratings to a 4 star since my husband like it so much. But the food was very hot & when we made it home it was still hot. Now, my husband will go back now that we know my...
