After someone claimed this place to have the "best enchiladas on the NE Side of San Antonio" and some of the best they've had in San Antonio, I had to give it a try. Especially since I had just posted my enchilada list and drive past this place nearly twice a day. Shortly after being seated, warm chips and salsa were brought out. The salsa was good, didnt need salt, had a good amount of garlic in it, was a little chunky, and not watery. I ordered the same item the other reviewer had in his photo. The "Plato Texas". Which came with 2 cheese enchiladas, rice, beans and a side of beef tips and gravy. The food arrived pretty quick, maybe 7 minutes or so.. The plate arrived with a small pile of lettuce, a tomato slice on top and a decent sized portion of guacamole. I tried the beef tips first, and they were great. Super tender, almost falling apart, these were on the verge of melts in your mouth tenderness. Next up was the enchiladas, I had high hopes at this point after the salsa and beef tips. The enchiladas however fell short. Upon closer inspection I noticed they were made with white corn tortillas, which seamed to have a flavor of their own. The consistency of the cheese wasn't bad either, I just felt they lacked a bit flavor wise, and the sauce over them while decent wasn't unique, and more average. The enchiladas weren't bad, much better than many of the "Jalisco" restaurants I have been to, but I instantly knew they werent in my top 5, or even 10. The rice was decent, a variation I find some places that has peas, carrots and corn in it. The refried beans had decent flavor as well. The food overall was pretty good, prices were fair, with most plates priced between $9-14. Portion sizes on all the items were decently large, including the guacamole and the carne guisada. The one place the restaurant fell short was customer service. Chips and salsa arrived right away, a waitress brought a menu, my drink and order was taken within minutes, and then a different waitress brought the food. But once the food arrived, no one ever came back to my table, ever. I went to the counter to get my bill, pay and ask for a to go box. I arrived at about 6:30pm, there were 2 tables with people. By the time I left at 7:30 there were about 25 people dining at 8 tables. Seems the dinner rush here is a little later. I may have gone unnoticed due to the flow of people constantly coming in after my food arrived. I would definitely return for the carne guisada (beef tips and gravy), as well as the chips and salsa. But I would probably explore some more of the menu.

I am staying in the area for the week and ended up in a hotel right down the road. Figured I would stop by and try this place since there are mixed-to-positive reviews and seemed worth a shot. I dined in twice and ordered takeout once so far and will likely come back and try other stuff while I town. The dishes looked exactly as they do in the menu. The tortillas were fresh and delicious, vegetables were crisp and fresh and the salsa & guac were definitely freshly made. I love that they aren't afraid to put a little spice in the salsa. The staff were very friendly and the food was delivered pretty quick, but not so quick that I assume the stuff is already made in the back. I ordered one of the steak dishes and it was cooked very well for a thin steak (hard to get medium rare at that thickness). The portions were very good for the price. If I were to address some of the negative reviews, I think the seasoning was perfect. No need for salt or anything. There was an acceptable amount of fat/grease for foods that are made with meat. That's where good flavor comes from. I really liked the Al Pastor. Ordered it twice and will possibly get it again before I leave.

I ordered 4 beef fajita with guacamole tacos and asked for one with cheese. They didn't put guacamole on all 4 tacos two tacos had cheese when I had only asked for one. To top it off, those two tacos had salsa and jalapenos in them. I called and lady told me the cooks are certain they added it. She told me to go back but I was already close to new Braunfels and was not going to turn around. She then asked me to take pictures of tacos and send them to her. Even after I sent the tacos she did not believe me. She said those tacos have guacamole. She then said all were beef fajita. Every week I come here and get beef fajita with guacamole, what I got was not it. She was rude and even after seeing the pictures I literally sent her, she still said "honestly I see guacamole in your tacos" these are the tacos and exact pictures I sent. She said the green stuff on the pictures was guacamole. It's green bell peppers. I told her I didn't want the tacos if it was possible to only get the guacamole next time since I paid extra for it. You can see in the pictures the difference between the regular beef fajita in the one pictures and the other two that are spicy.

Ordered my food by phone at 10:15am. When I went to pick up my food it was not ready and the drive thru made me pull forward. After watching 5 cars order their food and get it before me I started calling to cancel and get my money back when the lady came through the door. I did not get my food until 11:12am. Which not only made me late to my appointment but my food was COLD. How if it wasn’t ready? I call to talk to a manager and the girl on the phone said she was the manager. Then put me on hold to talk to a manager. She comes back to the phone and says I need to bring the food back. Understandable right but could have done without the attitude especially when y’all messed up. I cannot turn around as I’m already on the highway and late to the appointment I would have been 20 minutes early for. So yes now I’m irate. Does the manager come to the phone no. The girl that is impersonating a manager proceeds to tell me if I ordered on the phone I should have come inside instead of wait through the drive thru then my food wouldn’t have been cold…. HOW IF MY FOOD WAS NOT READY WHEN I GOT THERE!!! I always ignore when my food is wrong, when I’m missing a taco, when the girls have attitudes but not today. This was poor service and I come quite often. I’ve never ordered over the phone yet I’ve never waited this long for food ordered through the drive thru either. Disappointed. On top of that. I did not order potato and egg and why is there lettuce in my bacon...

First time eating here. The tables were cleared of dishes, but definitely not wiped down and cleaned. If you're looking for cleanliness and sanitation, this isn't the place for you. Yes, this should be first on everybody's list. However, let's be honest, we know what we are getting into before we even park at our chosen establishment.

Our server was initially fast and efficient. She didn't make us wait long before she came to ask us for our drinks, then quickly took our food order. We went for breakfast (7am) and they were already busy. Even so, our food came out quick. And it was pretty good. Both my husband and I enjoyed our plates. He got huevos rancheros, and I got oatmeal.

After our food was dropped at the table, our server never came back. Almost 20 min went by, so finally we just had to ask for her. I asked for the check, She did that quickly, and then awkwardly stood there waiting for payment. I gave her the card, she brought the receipts back immediately, and stood there awkwardly AGAIN waiting for me to sign it (I couldn't keep my giggle this time). I said thanks and I'd get it to her when I was finished. Only then did she leave.

At any rate, other than the service taking an unexpected turn at the end, it was an all around good...
