I would give a 10 out of 10 if I could. I was craving Tom Kha but my usual spot I hit up was closed today. I had a day full of appointments so ordering in was the option for tonight. So I decided to venture and give a new place a shot and so happy I did.
I ordered Stir fry mixed vegetables with chicken for my twins, boyfriend ordered Thai Basil and I of course wanted to give their Tom Kha soup a try. I also ordered 5 Egg rolls though I would consider them more like fried spring rolls but either way even those were fantastic and worth every penny.
I tasted a bit of my son's plate and man oh man it was perfect. I feel next time I may order it for myself. Most places I have tried stir fry vegetables they are all soggy and over cooked but these vegetables were crisp, full of flavor and the steamed rice with the juices from the stir fry just topped it all. I would be happy to just order the steamed white rice alone, it was fluffy and perfect.
My boyfriend was busy doing work on his PC while eating his so I didnt get much feed back on his plate but he said he liked it and didnt have any complaint, which means a lot since he is usually super picky. If he has no complaints then I say its a win.
Im hesitant on ordering Tom Kha (mine was with chicken) from places I do not know. A lot of times its made differently from place to place but I have had a few that turned out not so great. When I opened it, it smelled amazing. I filled my bowl up with the white steamed rice and poured the portion size I wanted over it along with the liquid. I made sure to order the large size so if it was fantastic I could have some for the next day. All in all it was perfect. It had enough of everything and every item in it had flavor. I feel if a Thai place makes an amazing Tom Kha then thats enough to give them 10 stars for me personally. I was shocked that even my kids dish was outstanding. If I ever get a chance to eat there personally I would love to tip the kitchen staff.
Only thing I would wish is that the app I ordered off of would add the option to add heat. Sadly there was no option to select that with the Tom Kha, But even though that was not there the food was satisfying, arrived hot, packaged perfectly and was...
Read moreWent a couple of hours ago to the this location. I’ve had the first location on McCollough probably about a year ago and didn’t care for it.. but decided to give this a chance since I was tired, hungry and in the area. The complimentary soup they gave was good. I think it was Tom Kha from the flavors of the coconut milk and lemongrass, however I felt the vegetables could have been cooked longer in the soup. The real issue though, was my entree. I’ve had pad woon sen many times and even make it at home.. this was really overly wet - more than usual. I took one bite of the chicken and if the waitress hadn’t been looking in our direction, I would have spit it out. I had to carefully chew it on the side of my mouth so I wouldn’t have to taste it then swallowed the rest with some water. It tasted like ammonia - very poor quality meat. I could see when I got my entree that it looked off right away but I was trying to stay optimistic. I ended up scootingall the chicken off to the corner of the plate and ate the noodles mixed with rice because my head hurt. I didn’t express this to the waitress because I know it’s not her fault and didn’t want her to worry about it. I just knew I couldn’t ever come back. I was surprised when the check came and it cost less than I expected - in a good way - they gave us menus with inaccurate prices so I expected to pay $10.99 per meal not 7.99. Glad I paid less for something I didn’t enjoy. Just thinking about that flavor of the meat makes me feel nauseous...
Read moreWent to this restaurant the store was closed. It was about 3:00. Maybe 4:00 in the afternoon on a Saturday. My daughter and I was waiting in the parking lot. Finally they came and opened the door. We're about to actually leave. We're the first ones in the restaurant and we were seated. Some other people came in shortly after that they were seated. This lady took the patrons that came in after us order and drinks before ours. Then when we said to her we're ready to order. She just kind of walked past us blatantly and didn't say anything. My daughter and I are African-American and I hate to use that card but I believe that she was just being racist and then on top of that her customer that got served before us also started laughing and getting involved telling me she was there once a week. I don't know what that has to do with the price of tea in China literally haha but I'm not understanding like why. You know people are so rude in their establishments and they want people to continue to keep coming back to their establishments but yet they continue to be rude to everybody. If you're going to have a restaurant, you need to treat everyone equally the same....
