I had the pleasure of finally coming back here after years of absence and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the same vibe of feeling like I'm entering into someone's home remains. Its inviting and warm, it feels as though I am entering a home of an old friend for a meal. I noticed some items like the seafood plate that used to be there is not but I can forgive that as that's just me being nostalgic for times long past. I had the vegetable beef soup which was good, I did not finish it however because of the green peas which was a turn off for me but overall that was a pleasantly hot and tasty dish. I decided to try the patty melt instead of defaulting to the half chicken dinner. The patty melt was delicious, bread was crispy, crunchy and the meat was tasty. The onions were great tasting and the fries were nice and hot. I am glad to see that Sundowner's still stands the test of time and I hope it continues to remain a permanent facet in San Bernardino for many years to come.

Sundowners isn’t what it use to be. I’ve been coming here for YEARS. To both the Fontana and San Bernardino locations. I’ve always ordered the same plate. A medium rare steak with a baked potato and shrimp. With a bowl of clam chowder and unsweet ice tea.. only to come in today, the tea was disgusting, lid was left open. And the steak had shrunk double in size. It was tiny, hard, and burnt! (If yall remember the old Sundowner steaks) The clam chowder was still good, just a little salty. But, unfortunately, I will not be returning to this place anytime soon. Not sure how long this place will last with such high prices and terrible cheap food. You don’t even get a refill on soup at least.. just terrible for experience.. they don’t care about their customers, or the food would be better…

Its very sad that the cooks in this resturant are wasting so many steaks ots pathetic.. My son ordered a medium rare sirloin steak plate and of course it was well done..he was like dad its okay ill just eat it. My daughter also had a sirloin steak she also ordered medium rare and guess what it was also well cooked. Now I ordered a rib eye steak dinner thats on sale for 9.99 so i jumped on the deal and guess what I love my steak medium rare. And let me tell you im a steak man but not only that I went to culinary school so I know that a beautifully cooked medium rare steak should be at 135 degrees. No more no less..and guess what it was beyond well. It was like chewing on cardboard. So yes my kids might not mind there steaks burnt but I do. So i went back to the window and asked for another steak and please cook it medium rare please. I waited for almost 25 mins and i get my plate go back to my seat and guess what just by the look of it i knew it was over cooked..I cut i to it and again it was like cardboard. Ao i went back for the 3rd steak and i said look this is sad i came here with my family and now everyone is done eating amd i yet to even taste my food because its burnt. So now we are on my third steak i said please a medium rare cooked steak should be at 135 degrees no more no less. Again it took forever so i was expecting another burnt steak. Guess what i was relieved to see it not burnt but again i am a steak man and just by looking at it i knew it was cooked blue. Which means very rare. The thing was still mooing. So i cut it from the center of the steak out i went back to the window and said look please just cook it about 2 mins each side. Please no more no less. I stood there right in fron of the windown and next thing u know 21 mins past and i knew what i was going to get and guess what IT WAS COOKED EXTRA WELL..GIVE ME A BREAK. I just took my plate went to my seat and asked for the manager. He came looked kinda upset amd im sure he knew i was upset ao i politely told him look this is the 4th steak please ive ordered a rib eye dinner and asked for it medium rare. A medium rare steak is 135 degrees and he said ill get it right out. He came back about 9 mins later with a beautifully cooked steak. I cut into it and it was awesome. But what got me was he didnt offer any kind of comp. And all 4 other of my family that had already finished there lunch were just sitting there. I was not expecting a free dinner but the least he could of done was offer the kids a desert. But nothing cone on. I will never come back to this establishment here. I would recommend everyone to go to the fontana location. The food is better and over there i know tgis would of never happened. I can only imagine where there food cost is at......

Went out with my family for dinner and my sister payed 80 bucks for the food that didnt include drinks unless payed for mind you ur paying almost $13 per meal that do not include it, the cups used for drinks were dirty and once we received our food we expected quality food especially for the price but the food looked like something that came out the microwave the steak my brother in law ordered wasnt cooked in the middle and the chicken tender meal my sister ordered had a small nasty hair all the way on the bottom after she had finished eating her fries and as we went to go ask for a refund for the two meals we weren’t satisfied with even though all the meal’s sucked to be straight up it literally looked like something you’d put in the microwave but us not wanting to do to much we left it alone but as we approved for a refund the main guy was rude about it and not willing to refund both of them and only the one with the hair and said we shouldve came back with full plates and we told the man that we shouldnt have had to came back in the first place and he was trying to say that he’d give us a refund but we just told the man that there wouldnt be another time bc everything about our experience here wasnt good but yeah dont come here definitely not recommended not worth the...
