What is up with Cracker Barrel stores anymore? We have two here in Fort Myers and we have the same issues in each one. You ask for crispy bacon and you get limp, soggy bacon. You ask for over medium eggs and you get over easy with slimy, runny, whites. I have always loved Cracker Barrel but anymore I hate going. Unfortunately I have to untrain my children not to buy me Cracker Barrel gift cards anymore for birthdays, mother's day, and Christmas. My son sent us a gift card for Christmas. We were expecting to have a nice breakfast then go do some errands. I even ordered scrambled eggs instead of over medium eggs -the way I like them because I didn't want to deal with getting snotty whites. I have even ordered them over medium well and still have them come out over easy, snotty whites and gross. It's crazy that I have to change the way I like to eat my eggs because Cracker Barrel Cooks, apparently, have not been trained or are ignoring the orders. I ordered my bacon crispy and it came out half raw, limp, and soggy. Do the cooks even look at the orders to see how the food is to be cooked?! We received three and a half biscuits and three of the biscuits were scorched and burnt on top and bottom. The half biscuit is because it was a piddly half size of all the other biscuits. When the server came to check on us after our food was delivered, I showed her the bacon and she said I will reorder it for you. By that time I had already finished my eggs and hash brown casserole. I even showed her the scorched/burnt biscuits and she made an excuse that they changed biscuit recipes. I don't care if the recipe was changed you still don't scorch them or burn them and send them out to customers. I told her I would just take my limp bacon home and recook it later without going into detail that I would have preferred to have eaten my bacon with my eggs and hash brown casserole. She did tell the manager and the manager came over to speak to us. After seeing the bacon and burnt biscuits, the manager delivered two more biscuits and some crispier bacon; still not crisp and only two biscuits. Cracker Barrel used to have the best food and high quality standards. Any more it's just like stopping at some roadside dive because you never know what kind of service or food you're going to get. I'm so disappointed that Cracker Barrel's quality control has lapsed so much.

Just ate here... 1st off I know it's a Sunday and memorial weekend but should that mean food should be bad? and shouldn't I expect a table I'm sat at to not be wet, dirty and very sticky floors that I no joke had to clean off in the bathroom.. not a good visit for sure.. but I don't blame our server, Robert was a nice, friendly young man and was sincerely apologetic for everything.. we waited over 30 minutes to get our food served so it was a bad beginning that only got worse.. he was definitely busy but we don't blame him for the bad food quality. I will say... the biscuits were good, hot and soft.. but the dumplings without chix were the best item I had..to bad they weren't very hot but flavor was good..the rest was just plain bad.. had catfish which was barely mediocre, the other sides with the meal's we're to put it nicely we're Yuck! The so called mash potatoes looked like a thin paste of glue. I couldn't believe they were served to us.. . They were inedible.. the fried apples tasted ok but there was literally only 2 small apple pieces.. the cost with tax over $20 bucks for the fried catfish meal wasn't worth it.. cold, hard and disappointing.. mine was the vegetable platter. Over $20 as well... 4 picks.. with only the double portion of dumplings ( without the chix) being the only edible item.. the upcharged day old baked ( if that was baked today you could had fooled me) for the tasted like a old, cold on the inside potato, it was a Loaded?? Potato.. barely a smear of butter and was supposed to have sour cream but was not on it at all.. I was hungry but couldn't eat it.. as well the salad which again was upcharged was not good, the baconbits to hard to chew, the crotons hard and stale and the lettuce was the hard core pieces.. I don't mind paying when the food is good but if I can't eat it what a waste of hard earned money.. I'm disappointed to say the least..and I just would not recommend coming here to eat if you want good food.. maybe it was a off day but I won't return to find out..

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Fort Myers, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to a charming, nostalgic world that exuded warmth and hospitality. The ambiance of the restaurant was incredible. The rustic decor, complete with vintage knick-knacks and wooden rocking chairs, created a cozy and inviting atmosphere. I felt like I had stepped into a time capsule, immersing myself in the rich heritage of the Old South. The service was exceptional. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was top-notch. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. It was evident that they genuinely cared about their guests' satisfaction. Now, let's talk about the food! The menu at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is a true delight for any comfort food enthusiast. The Southern-inspired dishes were absolutely mouthwatering. From their fluffy, homemade biscuits to their perfectly seasoned fried chicken, every bite was a burst of flavors. The portions were generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied. I also loved browsing the Old Country Store section, which was filled with charming country-themed merchandise and unique gifts. It was a joy to explore the selection of nostalgic candies, home decor, and other trinkets. In conclusion, my experience at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Fort Myers was exceptional. The combination of warm hospitality, delicious food, and nostalgic ambiance made it a memorable visit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a taste of Southern comfort and hospitality. It's a true gem that deserves every bit of its five-star rating

We've been going to Cracker Barrel for years, it's always been one of our go-to "special" breakfast places. Sadly, I think today's visit will most likely be our last. The service was slow, which I can work with, but it was also REALLY bad, which I can't work with. I noticed immediately the menu had changed and didn't see my go-to item which is the pecan pancakes. I asked the server if they still had them and she said yes. Since I didn't see them on the menu I told her what I wanted and asked her what the best option for me to order would be. She muddled through that and we worked it out eventually but she forgot to mention all the additional charges and upgrade fees. I could have almost looked past that too if the food wasn't downright terrible. First of all, those were NOT the pecan pancakes that I know and love. They were just regular pancakes with pecans in them. Then I tried the bacon...it was so chewy I literally had to spit it out. While I was struggling through my meal, my husband was having an issue of his own, his hashbrown casserole was cold to the touch inside and had a crusty chewy shell. Our daughter ordered French toast and commented "it was like they forgot an igredient". She said it basically tasted like bread. We did flag down the server in attempt to resolve the bacon and the casserole issue but in the end, it was not resolved (we already felt some kind of way about complaining about 2 things so no way were we going to complain about everything, especially when the server didn't even care to ask how our meal was). After we had asked for her help with correcting the items we never saw her again. I wont bore you with the many other hiccups along the way, I'll just add that on our way out we couldn't help but notice that everyone had left full plates of food on the table...

Since zero starts wasn't an option and I had to give it at least one star; I offically award that star to the very pleasant and efficient hostess. She was the only employee we encountered that was genuinely friendly and professional.

Cracker Barrel just doesn't have good food or service anymore. That's pretty devastating, we will miss this historical...
