Baja themed Mexican serving fantastic food with a lively, outdoorsy atmosphere. If it wasn't for the expensive price (compared to the food you get), I might've even given it 5 stars. Eating at a place like Lulus... you know this isn't your date spot nor for a special occasion. You just want some great tacos and beer and that's exactly what you get. And even if it is in the middle of Laurel street, there is a certain price that you simply cannot cross... $7.75 for a single taco is pushing it, even if it may taste great. The atmosphere is somewhat lively but also the loud crowd and lines forming inside the restaurant throw off the balance. Even with all of this, this place deserves another visit.

So me and my partner were hungry and looking for a sushi place to eat before our GDG meeting at Google HQ. We found two places to get sushi close to us but they were both closed, that's when we can across Lulu's. We were hungry so we just went in because tacos are always good to eat when your hungry, man on man the food here blew us away. We come from the central valley were there a taco place or truck on every corner, but these tacos we're out of this world. This was hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had, can't wait to go back up to the bay so we can go back and eat there!

I typically order food here through doordash. The food is always on point. A few items I recommend: 1. Chimichangas - Very crunchy and flavorful. Not greasy 2. Taco-dilla with birria - cheesy meaty goodness with the consome. It's perfection. 3. Super burrito - perfect balance in every bite 4. Taco salad - I love the crunchy taco shell with the fresh salad and steak. 5. Chips and guac - Made in house and the chips are thick and crunchy. The guac is fresh with a little bit of crunch from the onions. One of these days, I need to check it out to get the full experience.

Food was meh. My problem with this place was the front end clerk, Brenda, who found it extremely difficult to even crack a smile or greet customers. I watched as the 3 people in line in front of me were simply starred at as they approached. No greeting, no "may I help you?" Very strange. When it was my turn I got the same cold treatment. After placing my ordered I commented, "You guys don't seem very happy" to which Brenda replied, "It's hot and I hate this stupid uniform."

Wow. Okay. I was there too once - worked fast food and it wasn't the greatest job in the world but I found a way to overcome and be friendly to the people who were paying my salary.

The San Jose sharks happened to be playing on this particular evening and I inquired with Brenda at the time of ordering if they could change the channel from whatever talk show was on to the game. She told me it was too difficult to find the correct channel. I looked it up and gave her the channel number. She completely ignored me for the next 30 minutes we were there eating (not because they were busy either - though changing a channel on a remote takes all of 5 seconds). This is pretty sad because I would have settled in a bit and had a couple beers and another snack or two.

Lost business on this day AND future visits all because some breezy who hates...

Very disappointing experience. I have eaten at their Menlo Park location for many years. This was my first and last time at the San Carlos location. I ordered veggie fajitas. The veggies were NOT seasoned at all, and were not grilled, so they had no flavor. I’m not sure how they were cooked. They did not serve the typical sides you normally get with fajitas. NO crema or guacamole. Only gave me 4 taco sized tortillas and 3 small to go plastic containers with different salsas, which was not enough for an order of fajitas. I went to order more and they wanted to charge me for it. I decided not to pay more for items that should have been provided, especially since the meal was not good at all and was already expensive. We went there around 7:00PM to eat. They started to immediately clean up the cooking/kitchen area after we were served our food, which...
