Sorry Nalu's!!!!!, THIS review is for Miyako Sushi which was right next door! Accidentally walked into another sushi place. Traveling tourist here, sh#*! happens,, oh well....while in San Diego was looking for some fresh fish, read Nalu's mission statement, menu was interesting. THOUGHT I was in Nalu's! WRONG!!!!!! Later discovered when received the bill.... it was Miyako Sushi. Ordered salmon skin salad & a couple sushi (my fav eel & a spicy tuna handroll). Sushi was the best ever. Maybe I over-rated it with 4 stars considering the handroll was not crisp but it was stuffed with an amazing amount of spicy tuna! Disappointed with the solo cucumber stick in there, was expecting burgeoning green sprouts or something to accentuate the tuna handroll as seen in most sushi bars. Here's where it went DOWNhill. Salmon skin salad was a BIG disappointment... surprisingly bland, biring chunks of iceberg covered by crispy salmon skin, & utterly DRY. Not even a light dressing. I mixed Wasabi + soy & dumped it on top to dress/fix the salad. Ambiance was sorely lacking.. Restrooms were worse. Waitress however was very attentive. I...

This place is delicious! Look no further, this is where you need to eat. We are a family of 7, 4 kids (who are picky eaters), Husband, Grandma, and myself. Everyone LOVED their food! When we arrived it was busy but the nice lady upfront would stop and help us out although the phone was ringing off the hook and she was calling out orders. She was very nice and helpful as it was our first time. The poke was really fresh, the katsu chicken was amazing! I got the salmon plate and it was DELICIOUS! The salmon was cooked to perfection and was very moist & tender. This is the place to eat good...

I came here around lunch time on a weekday. I ordered grilled mahi mahi with a shallot wasabi sauce that was served over rice with a side of macaroni salad and cole slaw. Everything was fresh, delicious, and crazy cheap for the quality of food I was served. My only complaint is they didn't have any regular unsweetened iced tea, which is usually what I drink. But other than that admittedly minor gripe everything was great and I was very happy with my meal. I'm not local, but if I was this would definitely become a new regular...
