Smashburger — Restaurant in San Clemente

I was going through “Delivery Nightmare on Pico” I had called a delivery company that picks up at SmashBurger. Pick up was to be at 2:15, that’s when my Delightful SmashBurger lunch was ready. I live only about 10 minutes away but was involved in some heavy studying and didn’t want to stop for lunch. So that’s why I ordered Delivery. I called SmashBurger at 2:30 because I didn’t get my delivery. The Kindness and Professional SmashBurger Representative, “Victoria” informed me no one had even picked up my food! I waited until 3pm called SmashBurger, spoke to Victoria, she was sympathetic,but has nothing to do with the outside delivery service, which I understood. Tried to get in touch with delivery service, which is near impossible. Finally, found a “Cusromer Service” number but was told I had a 45 minute wait!! So by this time I’m HUNGRY & FURIOUS! . I did just what I didn’t want to do, got in my car & drove to SmashBurger at 3:25!! And guess who’s there the Delivery Service, only almost 2 hrs LATE! I told him take off all delivery charges because I was there to pick up my own lunch! He tried to argue with me but I wasn’t in the mood! That’s when Victoria tried so nicely to explain to him he-was soo late!! Even the Manager, Noel Felix was sympathetic to what I was going through. He cooked my entire lunch AGAIN, so it would be SmashBurger Delicious. He apparently had cooked my 1st lunch at 2, & knew it had been setting out, waiting to be delivered since then!! I asked public health to do an investigation of this place. It would save others from possible sickness and force the manager/owner on how to handle food and cleaning supplies. The place is looking really run down and has no presentation or care of upkeep at all. My 3rd and last visit was expensive but the main issue was the handling of my food. The cook placed my order on the pick-up station for the only employee to deliver my order. She happened to be cleaning the counters, and booths with a chemical solution she has just mixed. She was using one towel that had been soaked in a bucket of green solution and it smelled. She saw that my food was ready and had just rung out the towel in the sink (which is oddly placed in the front by the napkins) after she rung out all sorts of dirt, and grim from cleaning; and then with no gloves mind you even or washing her hands, as she was taking customers orders in between cleaning AKA-- handling money-- Goes straight to pick up my order and grabs the open tray and places on my table. Her hands were covered in that solution and I thought to myself where is the common sense or courtesy here. SmashBurger! 2 beers and 2 full burgers is enough to make anyone happy. A few luck foodies got a chance to sample a quarter of every burger on the menu at SmashBurger! Thank you so much Ryan and SmashBurger for such an awesome event.

We had a personal presentation by the owners and topped the evening off with a raffle. I wasn't lucky enough this time, but some peeps received a chance to make their very own Smashburger or win tickets to Totem by Cirq de Sole. I jealous but happy for every one that won. The real winner was the Ronald McDonald foundation. Free food taste a lot better after I gave a cool small remote controlled toy to children in need. I hope that all of us were able to make some children happy this Christmas.

The food was delicious, but my favorite was the classic Smashburger. I also like the sweet potato fries and sampling the ice cream shakes made with Häagen Dazs ice cream. mmm.. I wish I could have more and more, but I can't.
