Best Pizza & Brew Clairemont — Restaurant in San Diego

I was looking forward to trying this new pizza spot. I wanted to try their pizza by the slice. I was having a great day until I met this horrible unhappy person. I walked in and it's confusing because we're it says pick up orders is where you order. There were two girls at the registers was not greeted as I walked up to one and she was doing something with the register completely ignoring me. The one next to her didn't offer to help just stood there. She keeps doing what she doing. And then complaining to other employees about whatever is bothering her like she is overworked or short staffed. Who cares. So I tell her excuse me I want to order a pizza slice, she looks up and says what? With the ugliest look. Takes my order like I'm bothering her. She did not ask me what type of slice. She walks off and keeps putting other orders in the oven. Meanwhile I'm just standing there clueless. The other cashier hands me recipept to sign. I wait a bit longer and tell her she didn't ask me why kind. She tells her and as she is taking orders out the little warm up oven, she looks and says you ordered pesto with an attitude. Then I can't understand what she saying I said I take that one I thought was veggie. She said that's the works there is a sign there. Excuse me. The sign was turned around by the way. She just walks away and tends to other orders. Worse experience of my life! Someone nice came over and took over. Also the manager I think asked me and I explained what happened. He gave me a gift card. The damage has been done I don't know if I will go back to such horrible unorganized customer service. Let alone see that awful human again. Customer service is the face of a restaurant and should always be a pleasant experience. The pizza was like cardboard, cheese dried up and wilted basil. I was looking forward to at least good pizza...

B: best food, best staff, best value E: excellent service, excellent environment S: stellar pizza and brews T: always a treat to visit By far one of the friendliest staff I've encountered in years. It's quite refreshing in today's present environment where traditional excellent service is rare. I've always enjoyed Best Pizza's consistently delicious food and beer (at their many other locations). This newer location is my favourite because the staff is always super friendly, courteous, especially the owner (GM) who seems to be there daily assuring quality service and food is consistently delivered. A wealth of stellar beers on tap to select from, and they are always fresh and (perfect) cold - obviously they know how to invest in high quality brewing system to deliver this as many places I frequent lately unfortunately have stale and sub par temperatured brews. Other than their (fantastic) pizzas, the salads, sandwiches, pastas are superb and often I'll need to take home my meal because of the generous portions. Prices are very reasonable especially for what you get - terrific food, nice comfortable atmosphere, delightful staff and 1st Class service. Pretty terrible experience from the start! I walked in was not greeted by anyone even though there were three young girls probably not even 21 yet standing around talking and then a fourth girl came in and they continue to talk. There was a line full of people, one gentleman, busting tables or delivering pizza and another gentleman at the window getting the orders to the gentleman delivering the pizzas to the tables. I don’t understand why the four girls were even on the clock if they weren’t even gonna be doing anything. They completely ignored me until the guy at the window bagging up and giving the pizzas to to the guy delivering the pizza to the table noticed I was standing there not being helped! Oh, yeah, did I mention that they did say welcome to the girl that was walking in clocking in, but not to me and the other person waiting for help. That girl who said welcome to her coworker, looked straight at me, then proceeded to laugh and joke with the other girls. There’s literally no reason for the other four girls to be at at the front if they aren’t going to greet customers or even help customers. It seems like three people were doing their job and the other four girls were standing around...
